Today’s video is all about how I started my sticker shop without a cutting machine. ✂️✨ I’m not trying to dispute the fact that having a cutting machine would be far more efficient, but as I mentioned I’m still saving up for one and in the meantime, here’s how I’m getting on without it 🙂 Do you have a cutting machine for your sticker shop? 💭

I have just a regular old apple ipad. Can I use this to create stickers?? Or does it need to be something more, or a certain app?

I agree! I have a Cricut machine and I am happy that I could print and cut from home, but I would recommend looking into manufactures that offer samples. I care a lot about quality and I have bought from Stickerninj. I've had a great experience with them. I love the planner stickers that I am creating; my goal for 2021 I hope to make more bundles items for the shop.

Friends you can use a non-stick pair of detail scissors to cut sticky vinyl paper stickers . I use Cutter Bee scissors but other brands also carry non-stick detail scissors they work great ..

I have a silhouette portrait I got years ago, haven't tested to see if it still works (it turns on at least, LOL). So I am cutting by hand. I got some spring-loaded scissors from Fiskars.. the kind you squeeze and it doesn't have the finger holes. It saves my hand! I find that cutting by hand leaves less sticker paper waste, which is nice. I don't like throwing all that left over stuff away!! Also, cutting by hand is oddly satisfying. But.. it is MUCH slower than a machine.

A Brother cutting machine? Is this the same company that makes typewiters? If that is true, then it must be very durable. I used a Brother Student Writer XL typewriter in high school and college, and it never let me down. You are very meticulous with your cutting. Thanks for your presentation. Take care.

Are you open to doing custom sticker sheets? I’m thinking of a full printable page of the safari pens. Possibly if you design a page of bottles with an ink swatch spot/square that’d be fun to use in a bullet journal.

Just curious... but is the stuff in your Etsy shop selling? I just wondered if you had started the shop and immediately had much success with downloads and die cuts. I know that you do have a small youtube channel to help drive sales to the shop, but I guess that I've never started an Etsy because I worried that there were too many other creators already!

Hi Marissa! 🤗 Hope you’re doing well! 🙏🏼 I believe that a lot of my support for my shop comes from this community and I’m very grateful for every sale that comes in. My Etsy stats show that about 85% of the traffic going to my shop is from my social media. I went into this venture knowing it would be a side project and set the expectation that I’d just see what would happen. Make stuff that I would use and share. 🤗 Everything else has just been a plus! I’d say if you’re thinking about it, go for it especially if you’re going to end up wondering, “what if?” There is always room for the best and no one can do you better than YOU 🤗♥️🙏🏼
