Your earlier day horror story reminds me of my own: I was in the 7th grade and had just learned 3x3. I wanted to try a 4x4, and found out the EastSheen was kind of the way to go (this is 2006 or so), so I asked my dad to order one on eBay. It took like 3 months to come in, and he had it shipped to his work, so I went to work with him that day to wait on it. It came in around lunch time, and I played with it non stop for the rest of the day until we went to go home. When we went to get into the car, I dropped it in the parking lot and it completely shattered. I was crushed. The core was broken. My dad tried to fix it, but it was really complex, and he didn't take it apart so he unfortunately couldn't get it. And that's the story of how I owned my first 4x4 for less than 5 hours. Its unbelievable how much better today's cubes are. Even my stuff from like 5 years ago feel completely unusable now.

My first collection of 2x2-7x7 (except 6x6 cuz only vcube had one and they were expensive) is like 7 years old now. They make good gifts. I taught my friends kid how to solve the 3x3 and gifted him a 4x4.

Im confused on what cosmic lube to get and cube to get. Although ive known speedcubeshop for like a year or so ive never really ordered cuz i didnt have enough, and now im confused between martian or galaxy for my lube and confused between the Gan 356 X V2 or the Gan 11 M Duo. i need some advice

U can always just go with the cosmic lube sampler, it’s a bundle that includes all 4 cosmic lubes (lunar, Martian, galaxy, nebula). But if u had to choose one lube between Martian and galaxy, I would go with Martian. Martian is less gummy than galaxy, and is better and speeding up the cube while still remaining controllable. If ur trying to slow down ur cube a bit, galaxy will do the trick however. I would also recommend the Gan 11 M duo.

Probably don’t get a gan if you don’t plan on buying many more cubes. I found that gan cubes don’t last a long time and they are very high maintenance. Get a moyu or something like that!

@@proxcuber4741 What do u mean by Gan cubes don’t last a long time? Do they degrade over time? Does it break? Does the performance hinder? The Gan 11 M pro is probably the best cube to buy right now if u are only looking to buy one 3x3 cube. It has adjustable magnet settings, tensions, spring compression. It could last years. With correct setup it is very low maintenance.

@@choicegaming3183 they get sluggish and they degrade. I have 4 gan air SM’s a few of the older ones and few of the newer ones and they just don’t last. They get sluggish after a while even after cleaning them out. They are also really inconsistent. My gan X has weird uneven tensions despite me turning the GES nuts the same distances. They are also not that easy to set up.
