Hello everybody!! I failed my mock A-level physics exam so you don't have to. In this video, I will show you how I went from a grade D to an A in A-level physics in 3 MONTHS. Though this is physics-specific, these concepts can be applied to so many different subjects. Good luck!

Ty for the video! For a-level physics i do edexcel as my exam board and im assuming u did as well, do you remember what textbook you used for learning the content?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
Hey hey, I used the Pearsons book by Edexcel and CGP’s one. The edexcel one is a really thick book and so I would only use it to really clarify things I didn’t understand but CGP is another great option. The best thing for me though was learning through past papers!

Hey, love the video! Is there enough time to implement these ideas for 3 subjects at C level before the exams this summer?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
Hey Fari, I am glad to help! I don’t know the context for your exams but I would highly recommend to do as many practise papers as possible from now. In my opinion, this is what gives you the confidence to pass the final exam as you continuously replicate the exam situation. But I won’t lie, you are going to have to really grind for the next few months. As in very limited distractions and really locked in to your revision. It will be worth it in the end, I promise!

@@ladyashong Thank you! How many hours do you recommend?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
@@fariii7 Hey Fari, everyone is different and your context will also have an influence. Make sure that you are looking after your body and getting enough sleep, at least 7 and a half hours. Then at any moment, I would recommend working on the goal of passing the exam. It doesn't always have to be past papers, potentially flash cards, talking to teachers etc. For me, I really put my head down, cut off distractions, and focused on studying every day.

Hey , great video , currently 3 months until my a levels , how do you go about using this strategy with content you’ve got no clue about 😊
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
Hey, good luck on your exams. If you have no clue about a piece of content that’s great because you know what you need to study. Before you even look into the text book, write down the few things you might know about the content. It could be anything, even the title but just force your brain to think. Then after you have attempted to blurt, go into the text book and read through the topic then add it to your blurted notes. Then I would look for exam questions that surround the topic and see how well I can answer them. If I am really stuck after marking and using the examiner report, I would go to my teacher.

Hey!! I just got my as level result yesteraday and even after so much hardwork i got terrible grades.... i will be sitting for retest in oct nov but my dream uni is nyuad.... how can i apply with these grades and will they reject the application by knowing that i will be taking retest?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong Ай бұрын
Hey, I think it’s possible to apply with predicted grades from your school and so potentially you could ask to take a mock mock to show that you are on the right path to pass your exams

i'm doing gcses, and there's only less than a month left, ive only done 6/7 past papers for each science so far, would it still be enough to do well?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 3 ай бұрын
Heyy, I hope you are well. It’s not necessarily about how many papers you have done but it’s about how comfortable you are becoming with the structure and your exam technique. Practising past papers really does improve exam technique though and so I would always encourage someone to practise as much as they can not just for exams but in anything else you want to do in life

This video is helpful and surprisingly in time, yet how exactly do you find what you need to review when doing past papers? some of the topics are broad........
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
Hey, I used the past papers to identify what I was struggling with. So if I was doing a paper and realised that I had no idea how to answer a question on forces, I would try to understand my mistake when marking the paper/ using the examiner report and then practise blurting and then the text book to build up my blurted notes. If I was really stuck on how to figure out a question tho, I would go to my teacher. I hope that makes sense

Hey , i also do a science alevel and i was wondering with regard to improving on pass papers did you do topic questions more or the past paper itself .
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
Hey, great question! I did the past papers themselves to understand the gaps in my knowledge. So everytime I did a past paper, I would mark it with both the mark scheme and examiner’s report. Then based on the questions (topics) I got wrong, I would blurt everything I knew based on what I learned from marking the paper then I would use the text book to fully clarify myself on the topic. After about 20 or so papers however, I started to see a trend in the questions/ key words that kept coming up for certain topics.

@@ladyashong Hey, thank you , i am losing hope as i do biology but i am seeing no improvement but i will listen to your advice . And you mentioned doing a lot of past papers but i can only see 2017-2022 for level biology ,unless your talking about topic papers . Sorry to bother just wanted your advice (loved your video tho!)
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 4 ай бұрын
@@adomapiagyei1272 Hey, I know that biology is a lot of memorisation and so it is understandable that it appears overwhelming. I did not personally take it but I think the best way to get confident in your ability to pass is to practise regularly. It is usually the anxiety of starting that initially stopped me from taking action. However, if you are doing Edexcel biology, this is the link for all papers from 2008 qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/exams/past-papers.html?Qualification-Family=A-Level&Qualification-Subject=Biology%20(2008)&Status=Pearson-UK:Status%2FLive&Specification-Code=Pearson-UK:Specification-Code%2F9BI01%22%20OR%20category:%22Pearson-UK:Specification-Code%2F9bi01

I think i failed paper 1 physics on friday, im in complete despair for paper 2 and 3 and also maths. Is it worth retaking year 13?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong Ай бұрын
Hey, keep your head up. One exam is only 33% and is not a representation of the next ones. I really messed up my first physics paper also and the rest went a lot better. My advice, take a breather, reflect on what went well and what didn’t go so well and apply it to your strategy. Until you officially get those grades don’t even start thinking about retaking, that is like the last case scenario. Instead focus on how you are going to improve in the next exam. Wishing you the best!

did you retake AS? If so, did you get the D grades at AS, so had to retake for Uni admission? I thought Universities only took/decided you could apply to uni depending on AS grades - so if one were to get A*s at A-level final exams, but as you mentioned Ds at AS, can they still get in?
@ladyashong
@ladyashong 2 ай бұрын
Heyy, I did the new specification for A-level and so AS wasn’t a requirement. The final paper was an accumulation of 2 years worth of content. I applied for UCAS based on A-level predictions which was like AAB at the time. I hope this answers the question
