My brain is so annoying. When I look at you, I don’t even see the acne, I just look at your skin as skin. But when I look at my skin and I see hyperpigmentation and a couple active breakouts, I feel like I look like a hideous monster. I don’t understand where the disconnect is.
@alexppeters3 жыл бұрын
Omg I totally get you, I used to feel that way too! It’s so hard to change how your brain reacts to your own flaws, we’ve been taught to be self critical! It takes time to relearn, try not to be hard on yourself 💖

here's a weird thing: I often find acne and blemishes on other people pretty. The bumpy acne scars, the redness and the texture. I find that it adds so much character and just interest to a face. I just hate it on myself and I can't figure out why.
@alexppeters3 жыл бұрын
Yeah its really interesting to make that realisation, I was exactly the same! I think its really good to acknowledge that. Each time I made a realisation like that about my skin, it gave a little less power to it :)

Thank you so much. I literally found this video crying and typing on my phone how to be confident with acne. I have felt so so so pulled down by my family and close friends because of my skin and my body, that it has started messing up with the way I see myself. Thank you for making this. And making me realise that I need to love myself better. Thank you. More power to you 💗💗❤❤❤

I’m the exact same! My family point it out all the time, try make suggestions and it makes me so upset 🥺 acne is so horrible to go through. Feel like not enough people speak about the mental health side of having Acne 😢
@alexppeters3 жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry, it’s so tough when other people are constantly saying things. I hope you can find a way to help them understand. And absolutely, people think it’s just a skin condition that needs to be fixed and that if the acne is gone, everything is better, but not the case!
@shubhangibajpayee30673 жыл бұрын
@@islagriffin1390 hey all the power to you girl !!!! I know their advices come from a good place but I also know that it hits the most hard too cause it feels like that's all they can see. But you know what, I have started to feel better realising how sad those lives must be who can only see acne in other people,😂 I mean people are so beautiful and unique, but imagine only their imperfections being visible to you, won't you feel bad! So its on us to see beauty ❤️
@Trees...2 жыл бұрын
@@islagriffin1390 all the time my family pointed out my acne and stuff like that but the thing that's been hitting harder right now is that I've started pulling my hair out so I've got a bald spot. About 80% of my conversations with mom are saying to put a hat on. Shes comes from a good spot (the hats makes it so I cant pull my hair out) but it always hurts. I guess it also doesn't help that I already hat looking in a mirror or see myself in photos. :(

And i so agree with the make-up point: I used to try to cover it all up with a tinted moisturizer, then foundation, then concealer and on top of that I'd use a powder. After an hour I looked cakey as fuck, my skin was itchy and I just wanted to wash it all off. I realized that i felt much better when leaving my skin bare, but with eyeliner, blush and lips done. On days when I need a confidence boost I put lots of effort into my eyes and blush, but don't use any kind of foundation besides maybe a light powder on 'oily' days.

I’ve had moderate pimples for about 3 or so years now and it just pains me, and everyday a new one pops up. It’s like I wake up and tell myself “so what area of my face is gonna be red today?!”. I thought I had it rough a couple of years ago, but I always use cleanser, moisturizer, and a lotion, which im currently out of so im using rapid acne spot gel, all neutrogena, but I’ve been using this treatment forever and there was a time earlier this year where my face was so clear and I thought I had finally finished the acne flares, recently they have started coming back so now all my confidence is gone. All my friends have perfect skin and it’s just horrible to me that acne isn’t being normalized when it IS Normal! Thank you so much for this it’s really inspiring

Quick story time which happened days ago: I went into a beauty shop to purchase foundation, the lady that works there really fd me up when she said "noooo don't ever put foundation on your face. Go and see a dermatologist or do something else. Buy something that works for your skin instead"... I didn't know if she was trying to be nice or pointed out the "try washing your face" idea to me. Anyways this video is so enlightening, I love your confidence and THAT HAIR girl. You're a queen🧡

Thank you so much! I was so worked up today about how my current acne looks like and those acne scars, and the fact that my skin keeps on breaking out all the time despite sticking to a suitable skincare routine, whether it’s from the stress of the exams or periods or the chocolate I eat all the time, I was just tired of all of that then I saw all those pretty girls on Tiktok with flawless skin which might or might not be fake, but that’s not the point, the point is I was really tired and decided to look up some positive acne content here and on Pinterest too, and found your video and omg it really made me feel much better and much empowered! Thank you so much, stay safe 💖

It’s so hard to just keep up with good clear skin I wish I was like my friends no matter what they eat or even if they don’t really care that much about their skin it’s also just clear - ✋🏻 my hormonal acne is just 😩👍🏻 and I’m just trying to maintain it but like I occasionally have breakdowns on just how ugly I look I rlly just can’t compare myself to them all my friends my parents all comment on my face and ask me to not he lazy and all that kind of stuff where in reality I’m really trying to overcome this for 4 years now but I think I have to start realising that there’s people in a worker situation then me so to anyone out there with really bad acne don’t let ur skin affect ur confidence! It’s easy to say but think about happy things and know that it will be over soon ❤️

Hi Alex! First of all I want to thank you for doing this. I can't even take pictures of myself right now because of this problem, so, thank you for showing us yourself in front of a camera, I think that's already a proof that you are actually working on it. Is curious the way I found your video because I was having an acne crisis hating myself when I wrote down on the KZbin searching space "acne confidence" cause I thought that's what I needed it. Then I saw your video and I confirmed it was. I've been dealing with acne almost 10 years as well, barely since I was 15 yeas old (I'm currently 23) and I have to admit that having acne has been one of the most frustrating and hard thing I've ever deal with but I'm starting to find ways to stop fighting with myself about it, and thanks to you and the words from the people in the comments I realized that I'm not the only one dealing with this and that I'm not alone. I hope anyone that read this can actually find the way to feel better about this condition.

You have no idea how much this helps me. Ever since the pandemic hit and I’m being forced to stay at home, my face started to be getting worse with acnes like every month even until now, there will be always be acnes on my face no matter how much I try to wash my face and be clean, it just won’t stay away. My parents always pointing it out and treat it as if it’s a virus. My dad at one point says that he doesn’t want to get infected by it. I’m a suicidal person and at that time I really just want to kill myself off and not living with these acnes on my face. It still happen until now but at this point I’m so done like I don’t give a shit about acnes anymore. It’s not my fault that my face and my skin are sensitive. My dad has asthma and the doctor had said that sometimes it would get passed down to the the kids in other forms like sensitive skin and that is the case on me. I mean it’s not like I want to have my skin sensitive and I’m still having trouble accepting my skin and face condition and yes I’m still suicidal but thankfully I found this video and I feel a bit relaxed to know that I’m not the only one here who has acnes

Thank you thank you thank you for this video!! It's so refreshing to see a video on how to accept your acne since my feed is usually filled with "how to get rid of acne fast" and stuff like that. I've had acne all through middle school and high school and even tho it's getting somewhat better, my confidence isn't. When I see people like you who look so beautiful with acne, it helps me feel like "hey, maybe I'm paying so much attention to my acne that I haven't even noticed I'm beautiful too!" I'm still actively trying to get rid of my acne since it's uncomfortable/painful (especially the jawline), but at least I can try to get rid of it while still feeling confident 👑👑 Thanks for the tips, ily~

You are effortlessly hilarious 😂 Love all the tips! Personally I got more confident by dressing up in a style I like, improving my presentation skills and being darn good at what I do. Having knowledge and skills that people can't ignore will force them to look at your talents and not looks. Also, celebrate those with clear skin. Doing so made me feel less resentful for having acne.

I just found your channel! May I say that you are rocking that orange hair! I find that I am uncomfortable on camera, doesn't matter about the state of my skin but I find it goes up and down in terms of confidence. Maskne is a thing for me. And indecision is a big thing for me when it comes to picking a sunscreen for oily acne prone skin. Been using the same stuff for the past 6 years and it wasn't until Covid came ong that it ducked me over.
@alexppeters3 жыл бұрын
Ahh thanks so much! Maskne for sure sucks, the only good thing about it is that we won’t have to wear masks forever hopefully 😅 and yeah in terms of sunscreens it is really hard to find a good one for oily acne prone skin! I’m still trying out different ones to find what’s best for me. I hope you find something that works for you during mask wearing times :)

@@alexppeters I hope so😁 there was one comment of one of my classmates that got stuck in my head. It's already 2 years ago but after that, I really didn't feel good about myself.😕 But your video really motivated me💖💖

I don’t have acne, I have these weird ugly spots around my nose. I hate it because I can’t get rid of them.

u see? the reason why i need this is because my parents point out my acne, their like "omg im so worried for her face ! what should we do !" and i hate it. it makes me feel insecure and feel like my friends think the same about my face. otherwise, i dont hate my skin, but i dont like it either. just because of my parents.

Peace be upon you all, can I just suggest 100% natural rose water (you can try find it at your local store) on a cotton ball and just wipe your skin clean morning and evening, it will get rid of all dirt and dust from the day, and will truly just cool any irritation on your skin, Also, don’t wear makeup, God Almighty created us all perfect and beautiful, you don’t need any products, just love yourself the way you were created!!! 💖💖
