Super excited for the solar video. I have an older camper too and have that on the short list of things to do, but have been wondering how to go through the roof best and get power down to the battery from there. Was also thanking it would be a good time to add a fan to the vents. Hopefully don’t need a whole new ceiling/headliner.

Hey, I actually already ran the wires for my solar and fan when I redid the roof. I was redoing the ceiling/headliner already so it made it easy to do it at that time. Here is a video about my roof which talks about the wire passthroughs. Let me know if you have any more questions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6rVfoOnZr6ml8U What camper are you redoing?

Appreciate this. Have thought about drawers for our truck also
@tgmorrissey4 жыл бұрын
yeah I am really happy with it as well. Do you need to do a raising system for your rig now. I raised it a total of 2 extra inches but honestly, it probably needed the clearance for when articulating off road anyways so it works out great. Its 5 1/2 in off the truck bed (2X6). Storage is the answer to a clean camper.

Hey Tim, Thanks for the video. A couple questions if you have time to answer: Is this platform exactly 5" tall? Also, with the platform, how much space do you have between the truck roof and the bottom of the over-cab part of the camper?
@tgmorrissey4 жыл бұрын
Hey. Glad you like the videos. The platform is 5.5 inches tall. It’s made out of a 2*6 which is 5.5” true dimensions. I’ve never measured the space over the cab. I’d guess about 6 inches. Why do you ask? You working on a project?
@awhite12054 жыл бұрын
Tim Morrissey Not really but sorta. I just bought an ‘83 Fleet that the previous owner largely else restored already. For now I’m just trying to get the platform and tie-down situation worked out. I have a ‘14 Tacoma so need to do a platform already, and I also was thinking about how to make it big enough for skis when I found this spot-on video. I’m a little worried about too much drag over the cab, and general top-heaviness, but still scheming it out.

The drawers are worth it. I played the ski storage game for years. Just do it. Your love it. In hindsight aight I wish I just mad one big drawer as I think I could fit more skis.
