Comment with your test-taking ritual! I take a phat nap and listen to Doja Cat before walking into the exam 5 min before it starts lol

honestly my best way of studying is to act as if im teaching the subject to someone, and it ACTUALLY worked for me i went from a 33.5/50 to a 47/50 in Biology.

I’m struggling so hard as a full time student that also works full time 😭♥️ these tips are very helpful, and I’m definitely looking forward to getting my degree. I love printing out my python assignments that I get good grades on and looking over it periodically to brake it down and remind me what I did and why. We got this!!

also!! changing up your location. i’m not talking about studying in a different place all the time, but if you seem to struggle with studying to reset your area. if you study in your bedroom try to rearrange the furniture to build up healthy rituals, a real motivation boost :))

This is really random but I’m really glad that you just used Quizlet to make flash cards after making a study guide. I thought that when I go to college and take memorization heavy classes, the content would be so immense that it would be impossible. But I have a question: how often do you go to your teachers or email them to ask for help?
@MayGao4 жыл бұрын
For courses with extreme volumes of memorization, I actually use Excel/a spreadsheet to self-quiz. I’ll probably talk about it in the future! With regards to asking professors for help, I would say I tend to ask TAs since they’re less intimidating and often times more available. That being said, it’s not embarrassing or anything to ask professors for clarification-especially after a lecture (my favorite time to ask “stupid” questions). At this point I really don’t care about how I’m perceived or if I seem like I don’t understand absolutely everything. If anything, being embarrassed helps me remember my mistakes better LOL. Hope this helps!

How to ace first and second year math / physics based midterms and exams: Google as many universities as you can for their math courses that are equivalent to yours with the same topics. Profs put up midterms and past exams with full solutions on many. Do these over and over since they're the same difficulty you'll see on your exam. The problem with textbook problems is there will be a twist that requires critical thinking to work out. A twist you didn't encounter in the textbook questions. By doing exams from other universities, you've already seen all the twists possible. If you use only the profs past exams (but obviously know this one in and out before you move on to more practice), he knows what twists he's never used before. He's not going to re-use the same "Trick" from a past year.

how do we know if we have "studied enough"? what signs tell you personally when you think you are done studying?
@MayGao4 жыл бұрын
If I find myself reviewing stuff for a 2nd or 3rd pass, I think at that point I’m pretty sufficiently prepared! Basically once I hit all my major to-dos (re: the Game Plan) then I’m pretty set!

Tips on studying for more than 1 exams in a day? I’m on a quarter system at a UC, so it’s quite fast paced
@MayGao4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I tend to schedule my courses to avoid that situation, but I’d say prioritize and prepare as if the harder midterm was a day or two earlier. Prepare more in advance than usual, give yourself plenty of time to get help from TAs and such! I prefer spending long chunks of time dedicated to one subject rather than alternating, just for clarity’s sake. Hope this mildly helped haha

Hey May! How did you study/prepare for Physio? Do you think writing out your notes over again than typing makes a difference? And how long did you give yourself to study for midterm? Sorry for all the questions lol, I’ve just been struggling with this subject for a while. I really like your videos and you posting this made my day! Keep up the good work :)
@MayGao4 жыл бұрын
Writing >> typing especially for physio! Definitely draw out diagrams and connect information. I probably took ~5 days to study for the midterm. Feel free to dm me on Instagram if you have more q's :)
