It really looks like its a collapse of the left hip that gives you your power. with gerret it looks more like a stomp into the right hip that gives him his power. simon used to do both. as well as david wiggins. the tall part is key to abusing both mechanics, Calvin goes from tippy toe balerina stance into the brace, garret and david wiggins does a bounce of the x step/tennis backhand step. both getting the pendelum effect. if during the rotation you also press with your brace to resist the downward momentum from a bounce or high step you can incorporate the pendulum effect to keep your left side collapse from not giving once its done, instead lead it into the brace press and pendulum. stand only on brace leg to practise, bending at knee up and down during throw. when hand goes out from power pocket is when you press. Mechanically in the hip the left cheek can do more than rotate your body with your perfect collapse if you also make it go from above your right hip to below, instead of just rotating around it, Then you incorporate even another power kind of power. here you can see seppu pajju get a hold of one. look at his hips not only rotate perfectly smooth but also check out the height difference in right vs left through out the shot kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ-umalvoMtpndU . you are kind of doing it on the left picture but your raw power allows for longer throws with sacrife of form, but you can have both.

You threw almost a whole 100ft more than the elevation of the country I live in (Denmark), and 75ft more than the height of the Seattle Space Needle, from where I was brought up and lived most of my life. I can't wrap my brain around how you do it and I worked in commercial aviation design for most of my professional career. I've found that I'm hurting those ribs when I try to use correct form, so I'm wondering if you have ever run into this and if you recommend any exercises I can do to strengthen that area and avoid injury
@mindlander3 жыл бұрын
I have a similar story, but I was forehand dominate. Now I can only throw backhand without much pain, I found using my arm as a slingshot or whip helped, which means incorporating your hips a lot more. Power in the bottom half of your body and more elastic in the core/arms.

The extra 2 mph of using a lighter disc does make a big difference! Distance is equal to (average velocity) * (time). Velocity will increase as disc weight decreases, and the TIME the disc is in flight will also increase as disc weight decreases, since less disc weight translates to more velocity and more velocity translates to more aerodynamic lift. Long story short, distance depends on disc speed twice, if that makes sense. Which means increasing speed even in small amounts makes a huge difference!
