My dark brown hair was highlighted about 2 months ago. I paid over $300 for the service and I could barely stand to look at it. I looked like a Jersey Shore wannabe with tacky, brassy highlights. With about $12, your amazing video, and the help of my boyfriend, I now have beautifully toned highlights and perfectly blended roots. You are helping thousands of women fix their botched dye jobs! Thank you for sharing this. May the hair gods bless you, always :)

Thank you for this! This happened to me a week ago! The lady did “bayalage” but I look like I have brassy blonde (that was suppose to be bronde) hair from 2002. I look like a bumble bee. Excited to get my hair fix today with this !

Thank you. Paid hundreds and did not get even close to what I wanted, I had orange and brass but what you’ve shared is simple and I got that brass and orange gone so my hair looks better with my natural Smokey ash roots and I’ve wanted this for over a decade so thank you so much . You’re very beautiful and your hair is amazing xx

I know this video is old but I just want to say thank you! I went to my stylist to get my balayage refreshed since it grew out, she left me with orange roots and orangey red highlights. My balayage colors are ash tones so this freaked me out. She put a toner and it barely made a difference. I went back a 3rd time because I couldn’t live like this and she said there was nothing she could do. I refused to believe that so I went to a different salon and this stylist, well she evened out the orange roots however she added more highlights so now I looked like a raccoon. I was left with stripey yellow/orange highlights. Sitting at home in tears with no hope left searching KZbin, I found your video. I had half a bottle of wella 2n which is close to my base color, and seeing how easy your technique was, I decided to try to “melt” it. At this point I had nothing left to lose. It worked! My hair looks beautifully balayaged again! From now on I’m going to maintain my hair myself since these 2 professionals screwed my hair up. Thank you! Thank you! 💗

Next time that happens, ask for a refund! I just had a hair disaster from a "professional' but I kindly and firmly asked for my money back, and she gave it back. I needed it to buy stuff to fix my hair! All this lady was going to do it wash my hair with clarifying shampoo after she left spots all over my head,and made my hair also way too dark and red when it was supposed to be mushroom brown. My hair was all over platinum blonde and now its completely ruined!

Thanks for this video! I'm going to try this process on my hair. I just bleached my roots all the way to my scalp after letting them grow out about 2 inches with my natural ash brown color which now has more grays than ever before. Lol! If you don't want lift with the 4A.. use a 10 vol developer it deposits only

What does that mean, deposits only
@chelseaamaureen69933 жыл бұрын
10 volume developer deposits only (meaning it is being added to the hair) 20, 30 and higher developer is stronger and is used for lifting color so when used for deposit only, it may lighten the hair one shade because of the strength. Hope that helps!

I tried this and followed every step and let me tell you I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. Ash Brown is my natural hair color but ever since I got highligths its been a nightmare. I had to cut my hair short trying to get rid of them but the rest of the hair would keep turning orange and looking brassy. Purple shampoo and other dyes did not work but this one certainly covered everything and gave me my Ashy lovely brown! Thank you for the tutorial :)
@cristensullivan8196 жыл бұрын
Alexa Ovalles this sounds like a very stupid question but do you wash out the base color before putting the toner on or do you add the toner once you’ve done all the ash brown and just blend it all together and then wash it? I’m confused if you need to wash it in between each step?
@alexaovalles95046 жыл бұрын
Hi Cristen, I didn't do the toner part, I actually just used the brown ash base and spread it towards the ends but without touching where I had some leftovers of highlights. Also, I bought the liquid bottle of the dye instead of the cream cause it was easier to mix. The product does smell really strong but it covers your current color almost as soon as it touches your hair. I washed the brown after waiting almost 45 minutes and that obviously touched the ends so the ends were dyed a little but no dark brown.
@beccamartin85336 жыл бұрын
Cristen Sullivan you do the ash brown toner, comb it down, don’t wash it out then add the ash blonde toner and comb down the brown it blend it
@Jessica-fy6eu Жыл бұрын
That’s the same question I have. Do you do the roots leave it in and then work your way up with the ash toner. Comb it down from root to get a good blend and then wash it? Or do you wash it in between the toners
@j.c.r.95875 жыл бұрын
Gorgeous and your hair looks very healthy! 💖 What is the natural level of your hair? 1, 2? And also will this 4A look with a reddish cast or look like a cool brown? Most browns look reddish cause of the mixture of the color, I just need to know cause I'm so sick of browns leaving that reddish cast on my level 2 hair, thank you!

I tried this technique on my curly hair and I forgot to brush it first so the knots messed it up 😂😂😂 I think next time I will just straighten my hair first to make it easier. also, my hair is lighter than hers so I bought 6A instead of 4A. However, I would have liked it a little darker so maybe next time I will do 4A. For more ashiness I bought the violet blue toning drops from wella and put a few drops in the 6A. Strangely, it seems like my natural roots didn't pick up the toning drops very well, but the bleached parts of my hair did. So the roots are more brassy than the middle. Keep that in mind if y'all try this . Lastly, I've heard toner is supposed to go on wet hair, so I wet the ends of my hair before starting this.

Thank you for the video. My hair is balayaged like yours. I have some greys coming in and my roots are growing. I have a question, I was told that if my hair dye ( brown just like yours) for my roots touches the highlighted blond parts of my hair, it will turn it warm. I didn't see that happen for you. Like when you comb it in....it is necessary so it looks blended. Any idea what they are talking about. Also- was told not to use an ash brown...as it will turn the blonde green if it touches it. Know anything about any of this?!
