Basically this is more like price action strategy and don’t think the indicator is useful because the reversal could be a pull back of a dobble top if you enter at the bottom but in david’s entry is more reliable as a breakout

In fact i go a little more extreme. I use Normal 14 period RSI along with 1 period RSI. When the normal RSI cross from below 35 and goes above or goes from below 65 to above it and at the same time the 1 period RSI cross above it upper band then go bullish. Exact opposite for short trade. Back test and see the magic.

The way it works you start where that green arrow is you count three green candles back if that third green candle back has a long wick at the bottom you go up if the wick is at the top do not take the trade it does work 💵💵💵

That's actually a good idea, though you mostly see order book software for currencies and cryptocurrencies, futures, etc., and not as often for stocks. The other part that is missing is the 5 SMA and the 200 SMA. Buy only when the 5 day SMA is above the 200 SMA; Trigger is when the stock goes below the 5 day SMA and RSI is below 10. Exit when stock goes back above 5 day SMA. Connors does not use a stop loss; that is up to the trader to control risk.

I use the rsi2. I wait for a break of the supertrend indicator and then buy or sell the first over bought or sold reading in the rsi2. If the supertrend breaks then i am stopped out. simple strategy.

@@lookingatthemarkets yes have been doing it for years since i read connors book. Add MM 1x. If stopped 2x. if stopped 3x. Never been stopped 3 times. Come back to 1x. And 1x is less then 10 percent of the trading capital. Monitor the trade intraday with a daily chart that is let it go below 5 as much as possible for buy. If the trade is near the supertrend then stops are very low. I never trade futures, only options.

Let me add that stopsare always on a closing basis. Many times it will cross the supertrend intraday and close above and below. So no stop. Sometimes these signals are the best.

I would say the gap up is the bullish bar. Buy when price breaks above the gap bar. I know of another strategy that the setup is the same without the rsi.

Not all breakouts lead to a trend. Quite often they go into a zone, sometimes a "sucker" zone where the banks are looking for buyers so they can then sell.

Hi David, the article is correct. In s/n(2), Price breaks above the higher swing high that formed just before the RSI signal (confirmation of bull trend). It would have formed a higher high. Hence, in s/n(3), wait for RSI2 to drop below 5 again, is to wait for a higher low. I used it personally and it is fantastic accurate.

Ewwwww it’s a daily chart... that one set up took days/weeks between the first step and entry. It makes my scalping brain hurt. There’s another 2 period rsi lurking around for the lower time frames... there’s also another strategy like this with Stochastics on channel U.K. spread betting.. cute concept though for people who can wait a month for a set up
