Let me add that 10 period Bollinger band 1SD, was extensively back tested at MIT by David Elliott about 30 years ago. When price is riding/repeatedly penetrating upper such band THE TREND IS UP IF THE BAND IS HEADED UP AS WELL (this holds true on any time frame chart--5 minute/15M/1H/4H/D/W etc.--direction changes when in that band price rides the lower 1 SD band. INSIDE 1 SD band (10 period) all movements are market noise--and trend RESIDES OUTSIDE that band. If price is riding 1SD band on MTF(say 5M,15 M,1H) simultaneously, you can be sure you are doing the right thing by buying. Martinelli also did work on this noise band. Longer trend can be easily checked by whether 50 period MA is above or below 100 period MA. Comments are welcome.

LOL, Yadav ji this does not work in a trending market like ours. Backtest it before you burn your money. It does work on shorter timeframes like 1 min or 5 min etc but if you want positional trades then this will not work for NIFTY or Bank nifty.

I backtested this on a daily chart of DAX (German stock index) from 2020-01-01 to 2023-08-02 and ended upp +30% and had maybe 4-5 trades per year lasting 5-15 days usually. I added to the "rules" that if the trade turned on me in a distinct manner (if I bet short and get a big fat bullish candle) immidiatly or after consolidation I get out to cut my losses, but if I get in the money I stick around until I get close to the mean (about 80-90% of the way). That way I took no really huge losses but had som huge wins (catching a 13% uptick for example). Now +30% over almost four years doesn't sound too appealing, but if we can verify these results enough to gain the confidence to add some heavy leverage to it, we could do +600% in 3,6 years with a x20 leverage. Then that would not be too bad and would not require more than a daily check-in.

I can use the Bollinger bands to find the huge rips. When the bands open up, so the top band slanted right up and bottom band slanted down, that means volatility is about to get alot bigger. Which ever direction the middle band is slanted it will go that way, the steeper the slant the more probable it is. After a while there will be pull backs, maby bit of consolidating, you will notice let's say we are short. The top band will curve over and slant down. If middle and bottom are still slanted down it's gonna keep going down alot. When the bottom band starts to curl side ways or up you want to get out of that trade. Or sooner to lock in gains.

Use MACD Lines Relied on which side of 0 lines that side is the trend mix it with RSI overbought or oversold region basically following this video strategy and in crypto perpetual Use highest leverage but never trade more than 2% of your total amount of your account and don't take trades directly 2% otherwise take entry with minimum position possible and average it on each 100% in negative or in positive upto the 2% amount( let's say you have 1000 dollars in account but you have permission to only use 2% aka 20 USD only , that's why funded accounts allows that high amount of funding because it's the 2% rule to avoid all the losses and liquidation thing on crypto ), then just wait to turn green and also take SL if after doing all this you crossed 60% negative ROI . Traders biggest enemy is trend flipping on A dime(e.g. 1H/lower times frame trend).Trend on 4H chart is the best trend guide for majority of forex traders( if one keeps trades for 3 -5 days--not day trading). By the time trader realizes that trend on daily chart is up, market has already gone up about 3-5 days & if you ask supercomputer for the mathematical odds, computer tells you that odds are negative right from the start.Trend based on the last 5-15,four hourly candles has enough big players/juice/force behind it so that it would not flip on A dime, so trader has decent chance to make something without buying overpriced asset to lose again.IF 4H FOREX CHART SHOWS NO TREND ON QUICK GLANCE, USUALLY THAT PAIR HAS NO JUICE TO MAKE A BUCK FOR MOST TRADERS,EXCEPT SCALPERS(A HARD WAY ). Thanks for sharing. Upon backtesting this I realize it doesn't do very well in trending markets. Because the entry conditions often tells you to go against the trend assuming it will reverse due to the RSI being over bought or oversold and trends don't always reverse when this happens. This strategy is best where there's a lot of up and down price movement.

Exactly. I know someone who does well using Bollinger Bands to trade with the trend rather than against it. I wouldn't use this myself unless I can increase the odds with a higher probability signal.

In a range bound market you can do longer timeframes like 1D or weekly chart but if the market is in a strong trend then this strategy will only give good results on 1min or 5 min chart. Dont believe me, backtest yourself. Thats how you would make an informed decision, I am not always right.

13 or 14 it has no importance at all. 13 may be optimal for a given period of time but may be worse for another period. Choose 14 or 13 and stick with it. In my opinion I prefer choosing higher value because it filter noise better but reduce trade frequency

SIR, When swing trading forex with support/resistance what is reliable time chart to use for S/R levels--is it 4 hour OR 1 hour chart? I would think that 1H ,S/R levels are going to get easily violated if trading is against trend on 4H/Daily chart. Of course entry can be made even on 15 M chart BUT ENTRY HAS TO BE IN THE HIGHER TIME FRAME DIRECTION--I seek your experience.

Not always. SOmetimes its better to get confirmation and make 2% then it is to Buy with a large amount of risk and Lose 8% or make 8% at that point its on you with Risk Assessment.

Sometimes it goes under the bollinger bands but does not reach a value of 25 or lower, after that it might create regular bull divergence and then you enter the trade. Also, in my opinion it doesnt have to be under 25 if its a bull divergence. Its pretty reliable on its own. If its under the bollinger bands that is an extra safety layer. If first dip is under the bollinger band I think its safe enough, and the divergence will also most likely be close to the bollinger bands low point.
