Love the footage of you running; so inspiring. 190 cadence on a marathon run, wow. I'm going to think how to incorporate some of this into my training for next year.

There's a great video with Bekele against others re. cadence and stride length, I'll try to find and post it.

Great vid. Thanks for sharing. I'm working to build towards a few 100M races next year. First goal, drop some weight and tackle a 50k in a few months. Hills are my worst, so I am working to get better at climbing. It's tough to get good push with my tush.

@@leegrantham Thanks. The other day I did six mins up with three min easy. My problem is getting my glutes and hamstrings to propel me up. I rely far too much on my quads.

Awesome video!! Seeing these hills reminds me of Comrades - I did my first one this year (up run), and your Comrades video was suggested to me a day or two before the race, which is how I got into your channel. Have been watching your videos daily since (thanks for all your videos - you've made a huge impact on my training). Two questions: 1. Would you ever do Comrades again? If so, up or down run? 2. Do you have any approach to combating the camber (sideways slant on the road around corners) on the road? Running on it is hella awkward, and I feel like no one talks about managing it. All the best!

@@nickbelcher8079 You're more than welcome here mate. Comrades is magic! 1. I'd love to return. The up run suits me best so I'd probably do that, but finishing in Durban would also be special. 2. Cracking question about the camber, nobody thinks about that but it has a huge affect on the way you run/creates imbalances. I try to stay in the middle of thse road where it's flat, and always look for the flattest part of the road.

@@nickbelcher8079 It was the reason I had a bad London Marathon one year, the camber is way heavier in the UK versus Spain, and I wasn't ready for it. 👍

@@olivervarney2032 such a great place, most of these videos are shot on Doi Suthep, just outside the city, towards Chiang Mai University, it's best to stay around that area. 🙏

@@leegrantham Great thanks for the advice. Yes I was looking at that area to stay. Ive got a 10 weeks block into my next race here locally in the UK (beachy head marathon - ive got to defend my win last year), then straight out to Chang Mai, for a short 4 or so week block to have a crack at the 50k UTMB race.

Another banger video Lee. How would you incorporate these workouts if you were training for a flat 5/10k, half marathon/ marathon using your structure program (Wednesday speed / Sunday long run)? Thanks

Hi Lee another great video What would be your suggestion for a half marathon plan in 8 weeks using the interval wednesday and Sunday long run protocol Current 10k is 46.33 minutes and long runs are around the 10 mile mark currently Much appreciated Ash

I'm still waiting for a bad video thanx Lee!!! Quick question, I'm aiming for just a 5k parkrun another PB,, how do I stay relaxed during. My heart is going, breathing out and in like a dog, form is shot. Questioning my self during the race too. I wish it was easier!
@leegrantham
@leegrantham 2 ай бұрын
Thanks Frank! 1. Warm up properly. You should be doing 200-300mX2 at goal pace at the end of your warm up, so that the heart is ready and the pace isn't a shock. 2. Train more at your target pace, whatever you need to do to break that up and get there, do it, just make sure it's gradual.
