That’s exactly why I am learning how to cut my own hair too!! ❤️ This lady CHOPPED my hair to shoulder length saying she was ‘trimming’ my hair. 🙄🙄 when it dried I looked like Shirley Temple. I was so mad! That was 10 years ago, and I haven’t been to a salon since. I will be using your tips the next time I trim my hair. Thanks!

I have so many stories of hairdressers cutting my hair incorrectly. Then if you go to some of these curly hair salons they charge you a fortune to show you how to take care of your hair. I already know how to care for my hair. I just need a trim or cut that doesn’t mess my hair up. I once went to a beauty school to get a trim. I thought a student would be better. She was she only took a little off and I was so happy. Well the teacher came to check my hair and cut more off and screwed it up 😡 The student was so apologetic and I told her no worries. I said when you go on your own keep the mindset you have now.

Just did this on my daughter. She loves it! Huge smile! I didn't want to pay a ridiculous amount and possibly be disappointed. I paid nothing and didn't take a bunch of her beautiful hair off! I will use this again!

Loved the results! I have waist long “3b-ish” curls. Right now just a straight no layer u shape. Will the layers make your ends too thin in appearance? I need every chance for volume. Has anyone made the hair too thin after layering it?

I always cut my own hair which is mid length to long for a guy type 3a. I definitely think the layered hair style is cool. I like to layer my mid-length hair to something similar to what Aidan Turner would wear a few years back.

Use a slippery leave in or regular conditioner so you are not struggling with tangles and you are risking breakage each time you comb it.

bzebluemorpho for shorter hair you would have to make sure your trimming smaller amounts at a time to make sure you’re not cutting too much off. If your hair is straighter than mine, you’d have to blend the layers a little more also
