@TJackSurvival, unfortunately I’m in south Texas. It would probably need to be remote on a topic that would appeal to both our audiences. I’m going to be doing a video soon on power alternatives for blackout scenarios -generators, solar, batteries, etc. You’ve probably covered that topic already though. I’m also going to be doing one on hammock camping soon where I share lessons learned from buying off the shelf hammocks versus my new custom one. We could each shoot a portion and share each other’s portions in both our videos. I’m interested in a wide variety of topics. Just some thoughts on cross-pollinating.

@@GottaHaveIt How does your 4Runner handle the weight? I used 4Runners and Tacomas for years pulling a similar but lighter trailer and it would cut my gas mileage in half once I hit the mountains.
@GottaHaveIt
@GottaHaveIt 6 ай бұрын
Kevin, my 4Runner is a V8 rated at 7,300 lb towing capacity. This trailer is about half that. It certainly burns more gas this trailer but I would estimate about 25-30% more. I live in Texas and so naturally we don’t have many mountain here and I haven’t taken it out of state so far. So, I can’t say for sure. I would eliminate my water and gas reserves if I was headed through the mountains.

I thought that spraying the max-tracks was a great idea. Whilst they are typically in bright colours such as orange for the good reason of being able to find them easily in deep snow, mud or sand once the vehicle is free, they also scream 'I'm a Max Track. Steal me.' when mounted on a vehicle, by spraying them you have effectively camouflaged them to the point that I, or opportunist thieves, couldn't immediately recognise what they were.

Jimmy, I’m not familiar with the term “washed it for me.” Can you help me understand your meaning? It’s working well for my intended design. I’m working on another video where I do a full walkthrough of the trailer and describe what I like and don’t like about it and who this kind of setup is for and not. Not sure I would go in the same direction again. There have been several new models released in the past two years that make improvements on the design. We bought this one and I did the upgrades because we are buying some large undeveloped acreage and we will be living out of this while we clear some of the land, have a well dug, build our house, install solar, etc. So, we needed something that could be hauled out in the back woods across a wide variety of terrains and withstand the level of abuse we plan for it in upcoming years.
