Halla sjef! Jeg tenker å kjøpe min første synth, men bare lurer på om det er mulig å recorde de lydene i synthen som MIDI i abelton istedenfor vanlig AUDIO, slik at jeg kan justere notene.

Omtrent alle synther kan styres med MIDI så ja, det burde gå fint. Når du er fornøyd med resultatet kan du recorde synthen som audio inn i Ableton f.eks. Men når det er gjort går det ikke å endre på noe. Med mindre du styrer den via MIDI igjen og spiller inn sporet på nytt.

Hi and thanks a lot for this nice video, very well explained and it helped me a lot configuring my Moog in Ableton ;) Just one question...may I ask you why you use both MIDI connections (USB direct to laptop and the other to soundcard)?

Glad it helped! Yeah so I use both Midi because I was unable to control the moog using the vst plugin using just one of them.

@@bjornarkbut couldn’t the moog play and record by just using the USB to PC Or just using the MIDI to the interface? I’m researching building a pc and getting a interface and MIDI keyboard/controller and I’m wanting the RME baby face which has a midi breakout, the keyboard I was going to get was the notation SL mk3 which has USB and midi in and out. Ive been confused on if I should hook the keyboard up to the pc via usb or if I should hook it up to the interface via midi. Is there any differences in audio quality or latency? Also what if I used the usb to send info to the keyboard but then used the midi out of the keyboard to go into the interface is that what you’re doing basically?

Is this possible to do without the interface ? So to reiterate, is this possible to do with only the usb midi cord directly to computer?

Yes, but then you have to control the synth directly. Not via the VST from Moog.
