Crikey. This is something I had never previously thought about doing. I love learning something that I know will be useful in future. Thank you for the detailed way you explained it too.

Hi Nutrix, well, being an instructor for decades, I would like to say: a flowchart! Gimme a flowchart. Then you do not need hands and words.... but many thanks 4 doing this! Lots of people could profit from this.

Thanks, I'm asking for some advice. how to best connect a setup consisting of a macbook with Maschine 2, Maschine Plus, Kontrol Komplete and two external synths (Kurzweil with keyboard and Korg WS SR module so that they are driven by Kontrol Komplete or for the Kurweil also send midi messages to the Mascine 2 directly from your keyboard? Thanks, Luigi

When you use the Ableton external instrument option (the most obvious choice , if you ask me) you have to switch on automation recording in the top of the Ableton screen, for automation recording.

Thanks for the kind words. I don’t have the Bass station2 anymore but what seems to be the start stop problem?

At time stamp 16:23 you said the Filter knob or what ever knob it was, was not sending MIDI to Ableton. Is that because maybe you did not MAP the parameter to Ableton? Thx ElectricEddie😎

Hi Nutrix, thanks for the information! I am having an issue with Ableton Live 11 Lite and my Roland TR-09. I can record the TR-09 on a Midi track in Ableton, but when I playback the recording what happens is that the internal sequencer of the TR-09 starts to play, which I obviously don't want to happen. I assume I need to change a setting on the 09, but can only switch between track play and pattern play? Do you know how to fix this? Maybe good to know is that I decided to run the 09 on batteries and use the 5-pin midi connections to get rid of the USB-hiss. But I don't think that would have an effect on the Midi trigger, would it?

Thank you for the information! What about the latency in the sound? Is there a simple way to adjust it?
@Nu-trix Жыл бұрын
I would not say simple. But if you follow some guidelines it should be under control. I’ll prepare another video just about latency.

Hi friend, could you do this tutorial like Gaia 2?
@JackPeloquin2 ай бұрын
Same concept. That’s what the man’s explained. You don’t need the control he has. He’s showing how to set up … any controller with Ableton. Follow along with your Gaia… golden!!!

Hey guys! I currently have 3 pieces of gear that I’d like to use. 1) Arturia Keystep 37 2) Roland JV1080 3) Scarlett 18i20 With these pieces of gear I want to: 1) Play my JV1080 with the Keystep 2) Use the Keystep to play sounds on Ableton 3) Use MIDI in Ableton to sequence sounds from the JV1080. Can anyone advise me on the connections/routing options to make this work? I have been stumped with this for a while and can’t seem to achieve all three playing options highlighted above… any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

@@Nu-trixyup that’s everything, I guess my DAW (ableton) is used as a mixer of sorts

This video was promising at the start but you don't show the connections. I'm guessing this all done via USB midi. I'll continue searching.
@JackPeloquin2 ай бұрын
Are you kidding? Do you need someone to show you what key to press? You can see the connections when the Ableton screen is up. Clearly. Fuck.

for external instruments ableton is not the best daw i guess. i still have problems with my synth " quasimidi raven max " the max only has midi in/ out and no usb so i have to use an usb to midi interface adapter. in ableton i cant find any function to change the soundbanks or sounds. if u have any idea please let me know :)

You skipped a whole load of stuff if this is how to `set up`. At 6:54 my heart sank when I realised you already had it `set up`. I`m pulling my hair out trying to set my MF up into Ableton..

What part of the « set up » would you like to know more about. I’ll do another video for it.

@@Nu-trix Hi. I`ve had Ableton for some time and have used it for making experimental (mainly mental) tracks. I bought the mini freak for this and a few other bits of hardware months ago for some other projects (voiceover mainly). I thought that plugging in the mini freak would be the easiest part but have not been able to use it in a straight forward manner, yet. I have been online trying to find help for weeks now. I see lots of videos about the subject but literally none yet that actually take me from the `out-the-box` stage to running in-track. Some have all the stages undoubtedly but those still skip settings etc. Also, it`s `linked` use with the VST plugin for it in relation to the in-track settings for Ableton. When I say setting-up, I mean actually setting the hardware up within the software. Your video looks extremely good for someone who has already passed my stage but set-up for me is a far more basic requirement. Pete

Don’t listen to these comments. Clearly, a lot of people in your comment thread are completely fucking new to music making. If someone needs help plugging a 1/4 in into … “what audio input do I plug into.”… they should move onto something else. Like making Mac n cheese (blue box basics.)
