I always learn something from you! I love the idea of labeling your highlighters based on your budget category. I get confused and end up with a highlighted mess. Thanks

I love The Budget Mom’s budget process and expense tracker highlighter method also. It’s great to see how other people incorporate her system and her forms into their own process and routine. Great job!

Same for me Nikki! I get stuck on the 2nd week of using the paycheck budget sheet. If you get paid 2x a month, do you use the same income dollar amount for those two weeks?
@sharonmitchel13772 жыл бұрын
@@cw7858 We get paid twice a month too so I’m really not sure how to do this. Bill payments are withdrawn from our account before the first check of the month arrives. While I have the money in the account, I’d love to be able to account for it,

Wow! Thank you! It's so creative and easy to follow! I've been doing something little different for a while and I'm kind of losing my tracking lately. I will definitely try this and hope I'll get back on track! Wish you all the best!

This I'd exactly what I do, but on google sheets I use the formulas to prevent myself from having to calculate every time and colours to warn me If I'm over budget

What do you do if you shop for items in different categories at the same store? Do you put all the categories on separate receipts or go through each receipt to add up the items from each category. That would be really tedious which is why I've never kept track of what we're spending. I keep all my receipts with good intentions of adding them all up at the end of the month. It never happens. It's smart and so disciplined of you to do it every day. Thank you for sharing.

question .. fixed expenses vs variable expenses utilities are a different amount each month wouldn’t that be variable?
@alexreith48772 жыл бұрын
I use a similar budgeting method and the way I think about it is that the bills are "fixed" in that they are not optional and are nonnegotiable. I actually use the word discretionary instead of variable because it really emphasizes that money spent in those categories is an ongoing decision process. I can't really change phone carriers every month, but I can choose a different way of spending on food for instance.
