Hi! So i'm a little new to working with photography and was wondering if you can answer a few questions about shooting for light painting. First, do you need to use a interval shooting setting to take this picture? and also, what would be the best guess for iso and f-stop for a nikon(d3100)? or would I not be able to shoot with that camera? Lol sorry for all the questions
@gunnarheilmann71355 жыл бұрын
Depending on your torch you can play with the ISO - There are moments i crank it up to ISO 800 when i need to fast so the skin is more crisp and sharp. F-Stop between F8 and sometimes even F22 when i want more time.

Hello! I have to do a little job with lightpainting but I can't unlock this issue, help hahaha!! In this video, I see how hand in hand that you paint the effect appears on the monitor, how do you set the camera? I have the Nikon 810, I tried to put it in live view but when I press the shutter it goes all black and you can only see the result when you close it again... finished photo...

Hey there. I use Lightroom for my photos but essentially i only do: 1. WB 2. Brightness adjustment 3. sometimes i pull down the black. 4. the lens correction - I could crerate a video on that - but there is not too much to it .. i really try to come as close as possible to SOOC - i rather take a few more shots.

Gunnar, at around minute mark 1:10 where we can see the multi colored ends of the tool, what tape was applied to the light? In the scene before I thought I saw only red tape on there. I'm looking for a solution that doesn't melt as well. I use the Eagletac lights that Eric recommended, and they will ruin a gel within minutes. Any suggestions? Or use a lower power light for the fiber brush?
@gunnarheilmann71357 жыл бұрын
Christopher Brown Photography .... thats the problem with some flashlights .. the klarus also have no heat management .. sent all eagletac back .. i used a ledlenser they dont heat up so much .. yes less lumen will do .. increase ISO may be ... and yes i put different color gels on it ..

How did you get multiple colors in one gel?
@gunnarheilmann71355 жыл бұрын
Iam really sorry for the late answer. I missed that question of yours. I dont check that often. But to answer your question: If you look closely i have different gels taped to the adapter so some of the fibers are red some blue and so on.
@andriussarapinas44347 жыл бұрын
I have a little question. You are using colour gels to make your fiber optic colourful. In another LPB tutorial it is written that if you want different colours of fiber optics, you can use RGB flashlight. I am interested what if I buy just white light painting brushes and I will use RGB flashlight, will it work, will I get the same effect, or do I have to buy all the brushes to get different colours? Maybe you or somebody else know the answer? :)
@gunnarheilmann71357 жыл бұрын
i also used RGB torches --- thats your decision and it looks cool too - essentially its what kind of effects you after - there is the little color shine flashlight that has some 15 different colors - that would give you more choice in colors rather than RGB and it cost like 12$ or so

What did you put in between the connector and the fibre optics to get the multi colours?

its just some tesa film / scotch tape with some colored gels or foils wat ever you have at hand that changes the color of the light

The shutter differs from photo to photo. Its really as loong as i take to paint her. Something from 20sec. to 90sec. for this kind of stuff. The models usually cant stand still that long unless you fixate them on the back of their head > that helps!
