I just wonder how the model kept standing there in the same position within 60secs without moving, as he gets moved he gets blurred, I can see the subject is sharp in your final photo, how did you do that though? Thanks
@LightPaintingPhotography Жыл бұрын
The model can move around a little bit, because this is a silhouette it really doesn't matter that much. If I were to illuminate the model then the main thing is that I only illuminate them one single time. Check out this tutorial it might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4iphYOCbNh6bbs

Inspirational as always Jason Have you any alternatives for the gels. i cannot find anything similar here in the UK. FYI the ling below to Amazon says Amazon in the USA cant get hold of the Papr Stret Plasics ones.
@LightPaintingPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't have any alternatives for the sticky back versions. ANY color gels will work though, I just like the sticky back ones because they hold their place.

Great tutorial, so many plans with this info in mind. Was wondering if you could get more specific with the placement (arrangement) of the gels in your DIY filter. I get the concept but yours achieved such great results I want to make sure I can replicate this. Close up photos maybe go the gels in the DIY filter? Thanks!
@LightPaintingPhotography2 жыл бұрын
There is no particular way that I arrange the gels. Each DIY version of the filter I make is unique and to me that is part of the magic of Light Painting! I am confident that if you give it a go you will get some awesome results!
@Lightpaintkid Жыл бұрын
1:42 will show the overlapped gels placed in the screw on filter. Maybe start with half and half, then add a third color, have fun

Question for you- What size lens do you usually shoot with ?
@LightPaintingPhotography2 жыл бұрын
the two lenses I use most often are the Tokina 14MM for wide shots and I also use the Sigma 24-105.
@sachinkhare16882 жыл бұрын
Jason, it was really cool I am going to try this. My only question is how do you hold the light or fiber optic that it does not illuminate your own hand. Is there any specific tip to hold the light. ? ? And yes Happy New Year. 🙂
@LightPaintingPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Using the Universal Connector it directs the light into the Fiber Optic, There really isn't any light spill to worry about, especially with the black Fiber Optic. You can get a little bit with the White Fiber Optic but I have never had a problem showing my hand in the image.

Out of curiosity, are you using the Rokinon 14mm for all your outdoor images?

I do for a lot of them but not all. I also use the sigma 24-105.

Hello lightpainting brushes, im an eager follower from Norway and i have a question for you. Im trying out lightpainting with my canon eos R and having some trouble. It seems impossible to do it with mirrorless camera. it capture just some small bits of my lightpainting. Im using " Bulbmode , f8 and iso 100. Do you have any experience with mirrorless camera?.
@LightPaintingPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I don't have any experience with mirrorless cameras. I don't think that there should be any difference on those settings though.
