I love this revlon one step volumizer. It works best when hair is nearly dry imo. This adds time, but is still much quicker than blow drying. And it comes out straighter, (yet voluminous), frizz free and shinier. You can have ends flip under, flip up, or very straight. I have yet to use it in the summer. I have fine hair with some wave. Easy to use. I use a heat protectant prior to use. I highly recommend that.

I have the original Revlon One Step Volumizer and I'm glad they included the "Medium" level since mine only has Cool, Low and High. Few tips: always use a heat protectant before use, be sure your hair is at least 80% dry (think of it as a finishing styling tool) and use the Cool option to lock in the blowout to help limit the frizz.

I love the revlon thingy! I have long hair and I’ve been using it for 4 years. My tip is to use it when hair is 80% air dry. And always clean it after like when you use a regular brush. There’s hair residue in the brush, you want to remove it bc if you don’t it will burn and use more heat. That’s why some people says it sucks or stopped working.

The Blowout Professor has just done a KZbin video comparing the expensive T3 with the Revlon round brush. It answers a lot of the questions & refers to the comments about wet vs dry, heat vs temp. etc. fine vs textured/thick hair, heat protectant etc. 👱‍♀️❤

I have the Revlon brush and I love it. I wrap my hair up in a twist and wait until it is damp. Then I apply a heat protectant and only use it on the low or cool setting. My hair is very fine and thin and have found this tool to be much more gentle than using a blow drier and round brush. Also it is easier for me to handle since I have rheumatoid arthritis. Love your vlogs!

I always love a good Mall, and a good Dr. Dray Sunday vlog. 👍 I use a Conair hair dry brush, with 2 attachments, and use the more comb-like attachment due to my thin hair…but it does the trick, initially, until the thins wins, but thank goodness for my big ears and ability to put those strands behind them. You are about as perfect as they come, Doc, and your hair is gorgeous! A simple genuine beauty wins the race, I always say. Have a great week, Doc. 🌻

If I had to choose, I would choose my Revlon One Step over my hair dryer/round brush. However, I wish it was easier to get the hair out of the brush, I wish there was a med heat setting, and I wish it had detachable heads because I can never do my bangs with this big of a barrel. But it's so much better than my old way for sure!

I wanted to share tips that could help those of you with fine, flat hair. I am always seeking volume and wave, so..taking shower at night, apply voluminizing moose (or whatever product u like) to damp hsir and mist it lightly with a soft hold hair spray or setting spray. Ypull a few small sections up/ back with clips and go to sleep on it. In the morning it will be almost dry. You can fluff it up and spray it and be done. Or..you can blow it in spots with round brush and spray it and be done. I get lots of compliments on my hair and it has been a great time saver.

So much easier for my arthritic body to use as well. It gives me lots of bossy and smooths my hair shaft down.

I realised I own 3 heated round brushes! They are all revolving ones (that you can also use without pressing the barrel spinning button). I have ultra straight Caucasian hair, so these brushes don't really achieve any type of wave/body that actually holds for more than 5 mins! Heat protectant alone doesn't do anything to help this aspect. Styling sprays make my hair lank & stringy. Regular mousse makes my hair non-bouncy, crispy & non-combable. However I am really pleased with my recently purchased John Frieda Air Whipped Volume Lift Foam (lightweight volume lifting mousse for bouncy, touchable softness, with Air-Silk technology for fine or flat hair). I rake it through my hair with my fingers applying it to the roots, lengths and ends and then the heat protectant spray. I then dried my hair mainly with my hairdrier and then with a heated revolving round brush. I then used my fabric covered soft foam rollers (with bendy ends). I then have a lasting wave with curled ends after a couple of hours... and a more definite smooth curl after more time/overnight, that holds until the next day (with a fine mist of hairspray). If I leave my hair to dry naturally, I can just use the JF foam/mousse and skip the heat protectant spray before using my rollers. It is currently 50% off at Chemist Warehouse, but on their website it is searchable using "John Freida Luxurious Volume Mousse" rather than "....Volume Lift"...the product is the same in the photo though. 👱‍♀️❤

I think you might be talking about a curling iron, the kind with a clamp. Curling wands don't have clamps and are super easy to use IME. The problem some people have with them is that their hair may slip off or they may not get as tight of a curl since it doesn't havethe tension of a clip which is why they are more often recommended for beachy waves and natural looks. You can get the same kind of flat wrap curl with them but it requires working faster and more intently. Go for a wand or buy a curling iron and remove the clamp if you can unscrew it. You can also try to wrap right over the clip as if it wasn't there or keep it open the whole way. You can get around having to use it as designed. Some leave a kink anyway because they are too tight or poorly designed, clamp is not supposed to be excessively tight

I loved this tool. I used it for almost a year then I noticed major hair breakage. This tool gets too hot in my opinion. Or at least mine did. I never thought a tool like this could ruin my hair but it did. I had to stop using all heat tools for several months as i had a lot of broken off hair around the crown. I have thick wavy hair like you Dr Dray. Be careful I hope you don’t experience hair breakage like I did.

Same thing happened to me . I never knew it should be used on 80% dry hair . I had major breakage around the crown . Looked ridiculous.

I really loved your hair when I saw it in that one short. That I cut my hair short as well and it's layered with voluminous ends lol. And I love it I keep getting compliments. I also did it myself that was just dumb luck on my part

I use that Ouia shampoo. It’s in my rotation. I feel that it rinses out of my hair nicely. I use the Ouia leave in conditioner afterward. It’s quick and smells good too.

Thank you for taking us along on your hair journey! I remember when you said you don't comb or brush your hair as it did not seem to need that. Just wash and let it dry. You must be having a lot of fun changing things up.....or down?

I have been to Houston once in my life and realized I also visited that mall when I saw the ice skating rink which I think was called the Tara Lipinski ice skating rink.

I went straight to your link in the Amazonian and bought the volumizer. We'll see if my old arms and very fine hair benefit!

I liked living in Houston. I lived there only for 1 year about 1/2 mile away from the Galleria, right on Westheimer. I've been thinking about moving back, but don't know the city or neighborhoods anymore. Traffic was beyond awful there, and that was waaaay back in early 1990. I imagine it's unbearable now (and I say that after living in both Manhattan and LA for many years afterward lol).

I have that Revlon dryer and loved it until my hair started breaking off after using it. Why did that happen? I would be so glad to use it again.

The weather in Seoul is also dreary and drizzly it us so depressing. Do you ever get lonely and depressed? How do you always manage to stay upbeat and disciplined everyday?
