I love this product too! Not super crazy about the way it smells. Ladies try using a tiny amt when doing a 50s victory roll style. It will make your hair easier to hold and manipulate. You will even be able to skip the teasing. I find teasing is way too much stress on my locks. But even better is when you take down the victory rolls. You will not believe the VAVOOM volume it gives your hair.

Hey, enjoyed your tutorial. I love that stuff big Sexy Volumizing Powder and suffer from the fine hair gotta wash it daily thing. You are a very pretty woman but I feel that your color palette for your blush & eye shadow is a bit off. You are like me in the cool blond family and the warm orange blush, eye shadow is for the warm skin tones. I think it would be more enhancing if you moved to a cool tone palette - like the dusty roses, red and pinks, lavender, that have blue tones in them versus the orange/yellow reds..Its just makeup - don't mean no harm. I struggle with the same issue and I enjoy hitting those big expense department stores for help where the cosmetic queens/reps really know their product and color palettes. So much of the makeup out there is for the warm tone complexions and like you I have pale, sometimes greenish blue eyes and the champagne blond hair and all that brown and golden orange stuff just doesn't work for my complexion - too muddy. It may require a deep cleansing shampoo. I know what you are talking about however with the shampoo not lathering up. Perhaps just a second wash or double shampoo.

I have a love hate relationship with this type of product. It does give body and lift, but the texture is gross. In person I thought, it's worth the feel for the benefit. Then I saw myself in photos, omg my hair looked like a frizzy mess. I so want to love this stuff. Just to mention I don't even use near as much as you did. But your hair looks great.

The texture is something to get used to no matter what I think. I tend to hate that dirty hair feel. But the volume it gives me makes it worth it. Each hair type if different I suppose. Sorry it did not work for you. Have you tried other powders?

I use very hydrating shampoos and conditioners now. That was a game changer for me. Pureology Hydrate and Virtue Recovery are my two favorite lines. However, I would suggest checking out the Aveda Rosemary Mint line! It's purifying and might be a good place to start! It's gentle but will get rid of the oil.

You actually don't reapply. You just massage your scalp a bit to bring the volume back. If you put in TOO much you hair will feel gunky. You want just the right amount :)

I bought one after my beloved stylist used it on me a number of times, but was an epic fail in my attempts to use it on my own hair. Like you, I have incredibly fine hair, but have had good results using Loreal Paris Elnett for light hold of a finished style. Do you use a hairspray or is this basically your finished look? Thanks!

It takes a little practice. I think the key is not using TOO much. But doing a little bit on a number of layers. Then really massaging it in. It's kind of a miracle for fine thin flat hair :)

I have fine thin hair as well. You should consider switching to a volumizing shampoo. Likely hydrating is too heavy. I have an oily scalp and now can go a day or 2 between washes. I use Red hen volumizing, don't put conditioner directly on scalp. Any dryness is solved with leave in conditioner and a touch of oil on the ends. Very light oil.

I wash daily so the hydrating one's are best for me personally otherwise my hair gets too dry but I have found a much better balance now since this video.

I use Bumble and Bumble Pret a'' Powder only in my crown area ,where I like a little bump, but the price point is a little hefty in comparison, frankly I use it like it were gold. I have colored treated hair. Do you think this would dry my hair out too much? I have just really normal fine hair, and like you lightly shampoo and condition dailey. I really didn't get to see the top of your head, but I suspect you did get a lot of volume.

It might. I honestly could not tell you for sure. It does provide good volume but may not be worth risking. It is a heavier product to put in the hair.

The product looks white in the container but goes on clear once you apply and massage in. Also, it does not clump in humidity. But you also don't want to over apply. Just a little sprinkle and the payoff is pretty good. You can fluff your hair up again throughout the day but massaging your scalp a bit. You don't want to apply more.

thats because you wash ur hair everyday stripping natural oils so your body is trying to makeup for it resulting in greasy hair after one day! after ur hair is clean and dry spray some dry shampoo on ur roots before bed or even before u go out. itll make a huge difference.

The texture is meant to be somewhat sticky, that is what helps with the lift. But you don't want to use too much. Sometimes I use to much and I hate the way it feels. But a small amount, applied very evenly is how it works best for me.

My hair is pretty dark (naturally around a 3-4, but freshly dyed it's more like a 1-2). This stuff sort of melts in and IME leaves no color or powdery look. I use tinted dry shampoo (Batiste Divine Dark) and even though that's dark, it shows up more on my hair than this does. But same as the Batiste, once you shake it through, it's invisible.
