In every one of these Once Upon a Pointe videos there’s always a moment where something great is happening and Katie’s over here like “That’s it. I’m done. I’m fired. They’re kicking me out. I fell out of a turn yesterday and now my career’s over with.”

Could you make a video talking about the hierarchy on NYCB and others companies?
@biastephenson41114 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video, and I'll look forward to whatever you want to talk about next! I will say, though, that I'm not a fan in general of messing with people's emotions like that. OK, the outcome ends up good, and maybe even more memorable for the relief, but it's a power play, in a situation with a huge power differential. It's taking advantage of dancers' self-doubt and precarious careers for amusement, which I find disrespectful. It's a thing in reality shows, too, where they're looking to amp up the drama for ratings; I've never liked it there, either. And of course the person who's the target of it can't complain about it without looking ungrateful for the reward that came at the end of the push-pull; you're forced to be a "good sport." (Sorry to be a downer on the happy story!)
@kipklop9754 жыл бұрын
also i loved the podcast episode where you talked about 5 other dances you did that aren't "classical big roles" and are less well-known, like dances at a gathering and stabat mater and all, perhaps something along those lines would be great as well (: thanks for sharing!!

I would love to hear about your turning point as a young dancer. When did you personally come to the realization that you were going places with ballet, you had exceptional talent, it was going to be something huge in your life? And also, did your family come to this realization at the same time or did they know before or after you? Does that make sense? Can the drive and work ethic required of this profession be learned or is it sort of something you’re born with? Just a side thought. Thanks, Katie!

A-UH-UH CAN'T BREATHE... I used the same picture you have on your wellness dancer tips thuumbail for a school project 🤪😂 But, can you talk more about your SAB time? I know you act modest, humble and everything (not that it isn't a amazing quality of. yours), since theres 'always going to be better dancers' as people say, but obviously you were probably (and most definitely were and are) an amazing dancer! I just want to hear you actually brag for once about how good you were and are... that sounds odd but its true! 😅
