Hello beautiful people! This is my loc retwist routine. In this video, I showed you guys how I wash, retwist, and do a hot oil treatment on my hair.

Literally searched for retwist videos because my loctitian cancelled on me 😂 and when you said “just do it yourself girl” that was the last bit of reassurance I needed. I did my own hair for years before locs so I’m not sure why I’m so nervous now 😅

Definitely go for it! I say stick it through the first few months but you’d definitely be able to comb it out even after a year if you really wanted to. Just do more research before you start and decide how you wanna start and maintain them or if you want to go to a loctician.

@@amandamonae3 I have 3C hair and I am on my third loc journey started with finger coils on 12/28/2020 and I have 68 locs. My first (4/28/2020 81 locs) and second (5/15/2020 75 locs) were both started with two strand twist and I was interlocking. I didn’t like my parts on the first set and I took it down and started over after 3 weeks. With my second set after 7 1/2 months I decided interlocking wasn’t for me because I didn’t like the look of it and I was created holes in my locs. I initially started interlocking because I workout and in the summer time I sweat from my scalp and forehead but I probably just will retwist once during the summer if that, wash my hair regularly and maintain my parts by separating my locs after each wash. I decided it was better to start over because I know if I wasn’t happy with my hair then I wouldn’t be happy and year from now. I’m so excited to see my hair progress over the next few months! I am so in love with my coils.

@@amandamonae3 there’s plenty of videos on here that shows different ways to comb out locs. The last set of locs I combed out I used a spray bottle mixed with water and a good detabgling conditioner and it made the process a lot more easier. I was determined to take mine out in 3 days lol and I did just that. Some people take their time though.

No microwave...that actually kills some of the properties the oils offer. Boil water, turn off, then set the bottle in the hot water to warm it

I've been a hair stylist for years and I enjoy when someone else shampoos my hair and do my hair. True it is good to know how to do your hair but going to a stylist and and or loctation is a treat it's a outing and it's also relaxing.

Just FYI, if you are experiencing buildup it could be the Dr. Bronner's shampoo. I loved me some Peppermint Dr. Bronner's shampoo, but noticed buildup. Checking out other loc forums everyone talked about how much buildup Dr. Bronner's causes. I stopped using Bronner's and then realized I suddenly had no more buildup. Also its supposed to be diluted before use anyway (its all over the label on the bottle: Dilute! Dilute! Dilute). If it's not causing you any issues, disregard.

Love you hair.... rinse rinse rinse is what I Didn’t do well maybe as 3-4 years in I noticed build up from that line of shampoo.... I now either add water and use clarifying shampoo (neutrogena)
