Thanks Laura for this video. I am new to watercoloring...I love it. I think I love it more than my pencils! Would love to see how this page progresses as you said you do several layers and not just one. Will be subscribing to your channel and I so look forward to more of your great videos on watercoloring.

I find watercolor coloring very difficult, but you make it look so easy. I love how it is turning out. 🤩👏👏👏

Watercolor can be very hard at first, but please don't give up. It's been the best medium I've ever worked with and I can color along for you guys IRT so you can see that you can do it too!

I just subscribed, I think. I cannot remember for sure I am disabled by severe spinal disease and have been having a flare up causing migraines 5 days a week so I can't remember. I want to learn watercolour painting and I want to get my muscle memory in my hands, of various strokes, by painting in colouring books . I was happy to see you doing it! I am not the only one who wants to paint in my colouring books. It was encouraging watching you paint.😅

I just want to encourage you to keep trying with your art. You really do develop muscle memory when you color or paint. I have r.a. and am happy to see my painting progress.

The Basford books are great for light watercolor and inktense. Doesnt bleed thru and almost no warping.

I notice you are using the smaller and fine brush. I love colored pencils. Being able to use water colors, will help save my good pencils on large areas.

Many thanks for such an interesting demonstration. I have often wondered about using my watercolours in my adult colouring books. Now at the very least, I shall give it a try in a few of them to see what happens! I have subscribed and hit the bell. So, it’s greetings from Scotland.

I just discovered your videos, you are so brave to use thin paper for watercolor, but the end really is beautiful,what brush are you using? It looks like they do a wonderful job, fine details.

It's an unusual painting on coloring book, I'm always tented to use watercolor on my pages but, I think twice. Would your technique work the same without pulling the page a part from the book ? Are you using a special kind of tape ? I'm amazed to see the usage of tape on such thin paper. Thank you for sharing, Laura.

You do great painting on that paper! Tried using my water colors on color book paper & the paper started falling apart in lil pieces!

The trick is to do tiny area with minimal water and paint at the same time. The only reason I can do at this point is from all the time spent with Watercolors! I have control of the brush....
@deepowers3117 Жыл бұрын
It was very nice to see that watercolors can be used on some papers with coloring book pictures. Your brush control seemed so very good. It always surprises me how people can paint so loosely with watercolors without the colors and paint just floating off in every direction. Sometimes, I guess that might even be the desired effect. Thank you for showing us how to use watercolors in books that have a paper that can tolerate them. Do you iron them when you finish to get the page flat?

I've heard using clear gesso on the page helps prevent a lot of warping while not interferring with watercolor medium. Is that true?
@Lauraisabelgonzalezart Жыл бұрын
I keep meaning to test clear and white gesso out for this purpose. I'll have to let you know when I do try it out!

hello. ,what brush are you using?
@sapphire9675 Жыл бұрын
I'm a newbie to watercolors, and I decided to learn how to paint in coloring books. What a coincidence to have found your video. Guess I'll have to be a new subscriber👍. Question: for coloring books that have cardstock as paper (like in Kerby Rosanes books), do you recommend treating it with some sort of coating for the paint? If so, what in the world do you use for watercolor paint?
@Lauraisabelgonzalezart Жыл бұрын
Thank You kindly for subscribing... for the paper, I don't treat it. I just went in with a small brush and used very little water. I accept that the buckling will happen too. The Kerby Books, Johanna Basford, and the Karla Karlzon books are the best because their paper is thicker. I've heard in other coloring book videos that using clear gesso may help, and I've yet to try that. I hope this helps! I plan on sharing more adult coloring pages soon as I begin to get them printed on cotton watercolor paper!

Hi Laura! I could watch you paint all day but if I did then I wouldn’t get any painting done myself lol. I am looking for a new printer that will take watercolor paper, do you know of a printer? I too love the Silver Black Velvet brushes and the Princeton Neptune. Thank you so much for an enjoyable video.
@Lauraisabelgonzalezart2 жыл бұрын
You really are so kind, Thank You! Well I too am in search of a printer for wc paper because I'd love to paint individual coloring pages from it versus out of the book. I know it'll be an investment too lol... a pretty penny for sure!

What kind of watercolor pencils you use?
@Lauraisabelgonzalezart8 ай бұрын
Hola Daisy! I don't use watercolor pencils. I only use Watercolors. And a very VERY small brush to blend this out on the paper.

You mentioned you are using some White Nights water color paints…those are soooo expensive! Why would you use them in a coloring book? 😳
@Lauraisabelgonzalezart Жыл бұрын
Well, I do love my White Nights and I enjoy using them in my coloring books! I also use them in my traditional art work! They're amazing to use!
@lukrezialaval2406 Жыл бұрын
White Nights are actually the more affordable ones. 😏 And you don't need much of it if you reactivate the dry paint.
@juststartingover27355 ай бұрын
Inktense pencils would work on this…but dont color with them. Instead take a wet brush tip to the tip pf the pencil and then go to the coloring page lightly.
