Shredder's Revenge has been available on Anbernic devices for over a year now. It's a lot of fun!

I think the reason why these Chinese companies skip putting most mario games and the like on their emulation devices is because Nintendo has been very litigious, and actually goes after people distributing roms of first-party games that they fully own the rights to. They have also gotten rom sites taken down. I'm actually kind of surprised Ocarina of Time, F-Zero, Donkey Kong and DKC is on there.

I believe it's cause Mario games are Nintendo's main focus this year and these companies putting Mario games on their device at the moment may cause an uproar with the big N if they somehow got caught. Remember there are five Mario related games coming soon: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG remake, Princess Peach: Showtime!, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door HD Remastered. Also the Super Mario Bros. Movie is still out there as well so Nintendo is cracking down on anyone who are thinking about pirating that movie.

wisdum...there are exceptions...depends on what you buy from China...maybe Mario's are not included with Anbernics..Powkiddy..this one or most of the cheap 20 to 25 dollar handhelds...but it seems they got around this when they sold bootable 2TB HDD's with Batocera preloaded...just plug in to any PC or Laptop with USB...every Nintendo game..all the Mario's i didn't know existed on N64/GC/Wii/WiiU plus every Sony up to PS3...i bought one...but it soon corrupted after a month or two...briefly i got to look at the most pirated software ever to arrive from Asia...admittedly thousands of ROMs were in Japanese unsurprisingly...i couldn't believe it got through customs...i didn't buy a second one.

lol i was playing tmnt today on my blue gkd mini plus that i received yesteday.. i also added like 12000 games on a 512 sd card i had from anbernic handhelds with jelos, really nice metal quality handheld and nice screen

Shredder’s revenge was made using the open source street of rage engine. Makes it extremely easy to port. People have been playing it directly on the evercade as well. The evercade is linux and each cartridge is a sd card in a different forum factor. Each collection contains 1-3 for Linux emulators, with custom instructions as needed per game. At any rate, it’s extremely easy to get the open source street of rage engine created games to play on Linux. Including Shredder’s revenge among other official games. Edit: BoR engine is the name of the open source engine.

I'm planning on getting the Anbernic rg405 but probably the horizontal metal version. I like my rg353m but it just doesn't have enough horsepower for some of the N64 and Dreamcast games to run smoothly.

One thing I've lately noticed about these emulation handhelds is that they for the most part do not include Mario games. Donkey Kong sure, Zelda, sometimes, but Mario? Nope! As if that's were the "ninjas" draw the line.

Alot of the RG handhelds can run TMNT Shredder's Revenge with a copy of the steam game and little work.

That TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is probably the Linux version. It looks like they are running their own customized OS using Linux. If it is Linux then I won't be surprise hackers will probably find a way to hack the OS in a few years when that OS becomes more modern and familiar similar to Dingux, Emuelec, Batocera, SteamOS, PS Vita, PSP, 3DS, Android, Linux, Emulation Station, OnionOS, AnalogueOS, etc. Linux games are usually easy to port to device like these, I had seen a lot of Doom, Quake, and Cave Story ports to handhelds like these too and those were their Linux version of the game.

Yeah if he has ever used CFW for any of the rk3326 or rk3356 devices he'd find that there is a decent number of games that can be ported in from the linux copy from steam/gog. I have had Shredder's revenge on my rg351p for a long time. Loading times are long but once you're in the game it runs well enough.

I want to know more about that Shredder's Revenge port. It is a bit wonky with the 16:9 aspect ratio being stretched vertically to fill the 4:3 display... but how did they go about "porting" this? Could I have this run on other devices that run Emulation Station? I wouldn't mind trying to throw it on an OG Xbox or something just for shits and gigs.

There is an android port of it, though you need a Netflix account to play it, and it doesn't have the new DLC. That being said, that is not what this is. This is a portmaster version of the game for Linux handhelds, I believe.

These are from a Chinese company right? All of the video games are marketed towards kids in china and even though no kids would really be interested in retro gaming. They are packaged as “educational” toys so that they wouldn’t put a target on their backs for the officials. That’s all these companies and products are named so oddly. To be honest the Chinese names don’t sound as weird, still not great but not as weird.
