India was only invaded by Britain. China suffered much more from the war than India.

This is where it failed because if you want to talk about 800 years back, China was also invaded countless times by the Mongols and fought other neighbouring powers like Russia down the line. China did what it could to defend itself, China also faced more hardship than India in the second world war. Saying how india was under 800 years of foreign rule just sounds like excuses.

different country has different competitive advantages, India chose to develop service sector not because they didnt want manufacturing, it was because service industry made more sense and was the most viable option at that time, it require less investment and easy to approach to international market, China on the other hand, didnt has the advantages that India has in order to provide services to international companies, one main reason was poor english, China had no choice but to develop manufacturing, no one could plan 50 years ahead of anything, we all look at the most viable option on the table

Basically Britishers killed it by not integrating industrial revolution into Indian society, Britishers thought their machine made cloths needed a market and so they just cut off fingers of millions of Bengali cloth makers, they could have industrialized the Bengali cloth making but they just wanted cotton to go to England andaghinr made cloth to come to India in ships and get sold.....after industrial revolution we were basically like livestock for them, they took what benefited and destroyed what benefited us.

That can’t happen research has already been done by these geologists and India doesn’t possess natural resources anywhere near or close to Saudi or Russia India has less than 30 billion dollars worth of Natural resources meanwhile Saudi Arabia and other gulf countries have natural resources worth more than 200+ billion dollars and that of Russia nearly 300 billion dollars which is alone equivalent to about 9-10 percent of GDP of India but even if India had huge reserves of natural resources like Saudi or other Gulf countries it would have never ever becomed a rich country and developed because of India being a huge nation area wise and population wise so India would have never becomed rich even if India finds natural resources like Gulf!
