While I don't have much problems with Akuma's wild design, it's still great that Infiltration pointed out the fact that capcom likes cashing in on nostalgia.

My thoughts exactly when I saw that costume. The sad thing is that people pay for it therefore it makes sense to sell it.

People as in the ones who care that much for nostalgia. My Akuma is only wild.
@DCFHazardRebornChannel

I disagree with this. They added nostalgia as much for making money as they did to shut the crybabies up. "Muaaaah Akuma look so different now muaaaaah" "Ok, here, take a nostalgia costume since you are going to cry at every new thing we try you creature of habit... And here is a lollypop for you too. Better?" "Yes... wait, no, you are cashing in. muaaaaah!" Sorry but I call bs. People will whine about fuck all with SF. End of story. There are so many titles out there that toss "nostalgia" and old designs out the window, and others that bring them back on demand as dlc. But SF is the one people bitch about >.< Its an alternate costume. Case closed. It should not be free otherwise they wont be making any money at all for all the new content they keep making. The primary costume and look is now new. And people of course would cry over it so its a chance for them to have an option for both making money as well as making something that wasn't going to be initially in the game to shut creatures of habit up. p.s, I don't even know why people are so fixated on that old costume. I find the new one to be a lot better and I've loved Akumas look for 15 years now.

Infiltration is such a nice dude. I like that he waited with his criticism. I'm surprised tho that Capcom doesn't have direct contact with the regulars like Infiltration, Daigo, all EG, etc. If they host a good event everybody wins. Imho it's a bad idea to have the Capcom Cup at Playstation Experience.

So true. The joke with the "5 bars" is really getting on my nerves after almost a year and I'm quiet convinced that it got worse since around version ~1.05. I sit on a fcking 1gbit optic fiber connection and can barely play with people in my country. The best joke for me though is: sometimes, the game tries to sell me those 5 bars across the globe and I play against people who are an 8hrs flight away.

exactly. people act like netcode is gonna fix everything when people have most of the problems on their side. using older gear, playing on wireless or the best one playing with 5 other people streaming shit on your connection. Bal Zac They look alike, Japanese and Koreans, at least most of them do. Chinese look a bit different (I think Asian women are harder to distinguish with all the make-up they put on). Heck some of the people from all of the Latin groups get mistaken for Mexicans all the time, even some Arabs look like Mexicans. Black Jamaicans and Black Americans also look alike imo, but are easily distinguishable from Africans. Its not racist if its true. Hostile aliens would probably kill us all the same so stop with your "RACIST" bullshit.
@blanketvoid
@blanketvoid 7 жыл бұрын
Firstly, a statement can only to be considered "true" when it is true under all circumstances and in no circumstances be proven untrue. Clearly, there are dissenting opinions on whether Japanese and Korean people look alike. Secondly, the truth or falsity of a statement are not conditions for something to be racist. Supposing some stereotypes are true and then applying certain predicates to someone by virtue of their race is, however, racist.

Capcom this is a CLEAR wake-up call...a man complains about an entire patch on a video and not one dislike so far...meaning everyone hates this patch. don't promise to buff everyone and then proceed to nerf 60% of the cast and the few you buff didn't need it at all (guile urien cammy)
@kanavi2
@kanavi2 7 жыл бұрын
I don't dislike it because this is not infiltration video, this is a infiltration interview video, which was done properly, about what infil said.... meh
@liamg9334
@liamg9334 7 жыл бұрын
Kanavi Hakurei but picture this...you pick up a character that you see in tournament. (For me it was infiltration with nash) you watch every match and dig up any matches you can find of that player trying to improve. Then infiltration wins Evo. Everyone predicted it but then he kinda falls off after that. Other characters start to win tournaments like Ken Chun and then a Mika wins Capcom cup. It's not a coincidence that all those characters who preformed well in tournament got nerfed the hardest. It seems like they did all the patches on just tournament results. Do you think infiltration won Evo because of nash or because he is skilled? Look at guile as well...hardly any guiles popping up in tourneys. As a result why not buff the shit out of him. This patch is full of complete nonsense and is such a let down
@kanavi2
@kanavi2 7 жыл бұрын
Liam Gardner wtf? No, it's not full of nonsense, most sf games have no invulnerable DPs, Nash had to be balanced and most of these things were made but as a relaunch of the game.... This time is made through updates.... So why is everyone whining now? Because people is full of bullshit and I can see why capcom made most of these changes... Infil is a player, not a balancer... And I'm totally OK with that
@liamg9334
@liamg9334 7 жыл бұрын
+Kanavi Hakurei The shoryuken DEFINES street fighter but I'm able to grace over that. Do you honestly think a character like urien needed ONE buff? No he didn't. You know who did?? Fang and they didn't touch him. And almost every top player said that Nash was horribly over rated and it's the players that are good not the character. I seriously want to know your main and league considering how biased you're opinion is. Do you not understand that they actually said that they would buff weak characters instead of nerfing and the EXACT opposite. Also EVERY SINGLE street fighter has an invicible Shoryuken. Every one

My favorite line was "They're trying to change the history of Street Fighter" as it relates to DPs. DP's are ALWAYS High Risk, Low-to-Mid Reward. As Infiltration stated, doing a Shoryu at a key moment, is always "brave". Because that gamble can cost you the match, especially in SF5 due to insane crush counter damage. If it hits, all you get is a some space and a reset to neutral. That's how it ALWAYS has been. Characters like Laura, Boxer, Necalli thrive in the current system.. meaty, meaty, meaty.Yeah it cost meter to DP now, but I'd much rather meter be used for utility(moves to get you in, cover unsafe block strings, combo extenders and also as the current ex DPs are used). People got so bent at "yolo DPs" as a "scrub" tactic which requires no thought. This was true for some cases and any good player would bait overzealous and predictable players of that nature. DPs were always something to respect and to keep over aggressive players honest while they pressure. I don't mind heavily weighted offense, as I am a Karin main, but I share the same thoughts as Infil and I agree 100% with what he said.

This guy is my favorite Street Fighter 4 player, mostly because he was able to understand and master almost 20 characters and use them at a PRO tourney level. The future of SF V is Ultra Street Fighter 4. Join me in reviving the glory that is Street Fighter in Ultra and leave this mess behind. I hope CAPCOM will realize how poorly they have handled V and make Street Fighter 6. The only other action is to go back to supporting USF4. Windows 95 was great. Windows 98 was great. Windows ME was terrible...... when Microsoft realized this...they immediately started working on... Windows XP was great and my personal favorite x32 OS Windows 7 was great Windows 8 was terrible.//// again Microsoft realized this and immediately started working on.. Windows 10 is on-going...possible gamer mode soon... CAPCOM: Please learn from Microsoft. You can't make Windows ME and Windows 8 good. Scrap it and either make a new version of go back to supporting older but most definitely better versions.

Can nobody see that SFV is being shoved down all these Pro players throats and they can't do anything about it? Its a terrible game with no depth, designed to milk new players for all their worth with as little effort as possible. Kudos to Infiltration for being honest, understanding and putting up with Capcom's BS for this long. He has already voiced he is going to main MVCI, I hope he becomes a top player in that game enough to not depend on SFV anymore. I also hope when that happens and SFV is still terrible, he gets more real about SFV's negatives. He is just scratching the surface with this interview imho.

I disagree with that. Every new SF game is different. The problem with SFV isn't that it's different, it's that it's just neutered. Apart from damage, everything feels watered down and weak.

I know how you feel. SFV is boring as fuck. I don't like this new fancy graphics, they try to make the game realistic but they end up as cartoonish and eye-soring. The characters design sucks as well, just look at Ken, for God's sake. That's a face only a mother could love. USFIV is always fun to watch and get hyped. Matches on SFV, instead, are extremely boring
@t4d0W

Lets not pretend here. Watching Sagat fucking st. HK/RH in Vanilla SF4 wasn't really great. And everyone has supposed horror stories of Akuma and Cammy in 2012, the twins in AE, Rose overall and Elena in USF4. But it took 8 years for the game to develop and the latter part of those years competition wise were very inviting to watch. Character specialists, knowledge of mechanics and overall play in general were consistent at high levels and was great to break down despite the flaws of FADC and OSes that can cover a load of options. But really SF4 helped expand the awareness of FGs to players. To the point where companies are willing to put out their other products like KI, GG Xrd, Tekken, SkullGirls and MK/Injustice with confidence that the community will receive it well and build around it. SFV can't kill that.

SFV was built in mind with a heavy emphasis on counter hits and meaties - in my opinion. So it's a pretty natural progression to remove invincible and meter less DPs. Shoryus are still there and viable. The handvoll of top tier characters just have to spend that bar like everyone else now.
@Stock090

SFIV had characters that had to spend bar to get an invincible DP and no one complained back then. I dont see why capcom is pushing this "balance" thing for V.

In SFV you always could focus attack back dash to a certain degree. It was invincible and free. This was such a powerful mechanic it changed everything in SF4. In every other street fighter game before you had to take the pressure. We don't count in "the Infamous" vortex game of SF4.

the issue is that command grab characters now have no reason to respect your wakeup, and most of the cast don't have v reversals that properly deal with the situation. blocking and being patient is no longer a viable strategy in street fighter 5, playing solid is actually likely to kill you, the reason Dp's were important, is they covered all options, Meaty/Throw/CommandGrab and gave you a way to not play a constant guessing game, but the downside was it was a huge risk, having to spend bar to do that now is all fine and dandy, but what if you don't have that bar? so you just lose? i wouldn't suggest comboing into super in season 2, i would suggest saving your meter for reversals.

However I disagree with him on the DP change. Adding two frames of non-invincibility was necessary as certain characters relied heavily on meaties and frame traps (Ibuki). Invincible, meterless reversals completely shut that down which made fighting against shotos less of a strategic game and more of a guessing game (Is he going to DP this time? Or is he going to block this time?) It was a needed change. But.....he's the pro. I'm just some random gold league scrub....

I disagree because you can just bait the DP, and doing so already rewards you massively by giving you a crush counter punish.
@Stock090
@Stock090 7 жыл бұрын
It doesnt make sense, why punish a whiffed DP with crush counter and then punish it again by removing its invincibility? Its a bad change and "balancing" like this only hurts playstyles and makes the game more of a chore to play than anything else.
@kford9271
@kford9271 7 жыл бұрын
I understand your point Dylan. But baiting DPs wasn't the problem. The issue was that shotos had to ability to get out of pressure with no resource cost. If Ibuki knocked down her opponent, why is she then forced to make a defensive choice? "Cool, I got a crush counter sweep. I better block so I don't get DP'd." or "Ok, I've got Ryu caught in a frame trap setup. I now have +3 frame advantage. Instead of continuing my pressue, I should block in case he decides to DP." Imagine that in any other competition. The New Orlean Saints are on the 5 yard line on 1st down and can easily score. So instead of bringing in their run offense, they set up in a prevent defense. That makes no sense. I'm not saying DPs should have been removed from the game. But the fact that they could end your turn of attack for free was too much. Having to spend meter to get out of pressure was the right solution.

The problem is that the thing that made street fighter so great was its defensive gameplay and neutral. 3rd strike tho most well known was also one of the least popular ones tho it has a strong fanbase to this day, it was by far one of the more aggresive street fighter games and how did they counter that factor? by adding a defensive aspect that worked well with aggressive gameplay, the tap forward to parry. Go watch a pro match of 3S and you'll see it's very much like early SFV but there are a ton of parries. But the problem is that people don't want a 3S, they want a SF4 game but they have been taught to hate SF4, why? because SF4 was work, you had to practice and learn the game and you got your ass handed to you at the start, but with all that hard work you actually learnt fighting games, you learnt respect and defence and neutral and you git gud at it. It was amazing when you saw pros do these combos that you'd find hard and you knew the effort put into it, you knew how it could be dropped. there was a tension to the gameplay that just made it so fun to watch, easy to watch too for new players. SFV just doesn't have that, the hitboxes and hurtboxes are weird, the gameplay more often than not is more similar to watching an anime fighter and that's a problem... see anime fighting games like gg and bb etc are popular for their launch but die fast, there is a reason why they burn out fast, they lack that long term depth for a lot of people, that intensity of neutral. And in my opinion that's the problem with SFV, it's not a SF game i've seen it destroy SF players skills. it's a shame but the game is terrible and it's also what a whole new generation is getting told is "sf" which is going to lead to a generation lost when an actually good SF game gets released in future... :/ and hell SFV is lazy anyway, no close normals.. some characters have been ruined, some have less specials... balance is all over the place, combofiend saying "hey people all player the same way, with season 2 we'll want to bring back more defensive play and encourage different playstyles for the characters" and then they got and make grey damage take longer to regen, they remove invuln no bar dps? are they retarded? :S You probably at this stage can't teach this generation different playstyles eitherway, they've had a year being taught how to maul and get knockdown into oki.. 50/50's, they'll probably end up too lazy to turtle or zone etc And that's the issue here, the ones defending SFV are the ones who wanted the easy way, and that means they argue back in the easy way with insults and shit half the time, they are against practice and would rather win 50% of time than try and win 10 matches in a row. SFV has bred a new generation of SF players and in my honest opinion one of the worst in terms of quality.
@Stock090

Im with you in the boring to watch thing. SFV is a borefest to watch, more so than IV, which was shat on by people who didnt understand how the neutral game worked. On the level of things to learn, thats another huge thing. In SFIV i had to spend months to get to a reasonable level with a character (i used viper, dudley and rolento), yo had to work pretty hard to learn a character. Learning a character in V seems like it takes 2 hours and then its all set play. No character specific combos to learn, no chracter specific set ups to learn, things like that made match ups so rich and diverse. Fuck V, i stopped playing it before alex came out and i dont have a single regret in doing so.

Infil seems to be catching on to what Capcom is doing with SF. It's the same thing Blizz did with SC2 and OW, same thing Riot did with LoL etc. Basically you undermine one part of the community to satisfy the other but in doing so you satisfy nobody. Capcom stated this game was gonna be made for pro play while making it more casual friendly. They pissed both communities off. I think it's pretty safe to say that esports is synonymous with marketing to developers now. That's not inherently a bad thing but I think it's pretty obvious that they care about pro gaming for different reasons than the players and fans. They care about it because it gives their game a wider platform to stand on in the face of the general public. It's not about competition and seeing who the best in the world is.

Overwatch and SC2 are successful games with millions of players and proper netcode. SF5 is a hackjob copy/paste of another failed Capcom game (SFxTekken) with some of the worst netcode in the history of life. Cannot even compare that shit mayn
@NullGamingXYZ
@NullGamingXYZ 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not talking about the technical quality of the games. I'm talking about the appeal of those games to casual vs comp audiences. BW was massive for both casual and comp play. Blizz tried making it into a formal esport with SC2 (even though it already was one) and took out a lot of the mechanics that heightened the skill ceiling in BW which in turn made a ton of pros drop it. Heroes of the Storm was designed and marketed as a competitive game but took out all the individual skill elements of mobas before it to attract casuals and it failed. OW is a shooter that effectively removed some of the most core aspects (like actually needing to be able to aim accurately) in favor of more casual friendly mechanics (like aiming your gun in a general direction to hit someone and giving you a very powerful ult to feel like you're actually useful). Has it failed as a casual game? Hell no. Has it failed as an esport? We don't know yet because the game is still young. The casual audience will look at a game like a regular consumer looks at a car. They'll see the nice paint job, the leather interior and the sick stereo system and think "wow this car is great" (analogy for a polished game/solid netcode etc). Meanwhile, the speed demon that has studied all the details of cars like torque and all that shit will look past the appearance and see that the engine of the car is weak or flawed in some way and think it's a pile of junk (analogy for a pro player looking at the deeper mechanics of a game and seeing how dumbed down they are).
@t4d0W
@t4d0W 7 жыл бұрын
The flaw is inherently in the niche genre known as fighting games. You honestly cannot honestly compare more inviting team based games that are easy hits to casual players like OW (essentially super new flavor of TF2) or mobas to a 1v1 head to head game like SFV where most of the experience playing the game isn't taking on the CPU to get satisfaction. The competitive players know what to do with the (barebones) options but the casual players just wanted to pay full price for single player stuff and they didn't get it.

how bout a better in-game tutorial to show ppl the ins and outs of space control/frametraps/setups/understanding the concepts behind yomi and how extended play lets you appreciate the game more over time. Yknow...like Xrd Revelator's tutorial? instead of continuing to take more utility away from the player. im not upset with capcom anymore cause i get alot of players struggle the first 2-5 months getting a handle on a game, but more victories/a feeling of comfortability early on wont help a player appreciate a fighting game for the long haul. capcom HAS to show ppl how to play and give them a deeper reason to wanna play besides the prize pot(cause thats why hardcore players exist. aint the cash for most). at least offer KZbin links to officially made vids. really wish Xrd was getting this lvl of support, but who knows? maybe capcom and ArcSys can have a beer and discuss how to take Arc's gameplay design choices, and combine them with Capcom's well known IPs. shit, they could start by having Arc help out with MvCI since americans seem to not like fighting games without Mario/Link/Pokemon/FireEmblem knights/Ryu/Ken/ChunLi/Akuma in em. also shoutouts to Infiltration only liking the one character on the roster with alot of tools like an old school SNK/Arc fighting game(or SFxT2013)

I'd like to mention that Rivals of Aether, a Smash-inspired *INDIE* game that's very much still in early access, bothers to teach you about things that were originally exploits in Melee like Wavedashing. In it's BASIC TUTORIALS, the game tells you how to Wavedash. If an indie game can teach a Smash fan how to do that, Capcom can teach basic shit. Can we also mention that Injustice even bothers to show you frame data of literally every move in the move list while pretty much all of SF4 only gave you the command for it and nothing else? Mortal Kombat X even shows that data while I doubt SF5 goes beyond "here's the input, figure it out yourself."

s2 or sf5 in general doesn't reward honest and solid games but gambles and offenses. As a Ryu main, I hated sf5. And now s2 is out. I uninstalled it. This is not the street fighter game I know off. The reason DP was strong is not because of DP's invisibility. It is because this game lacks a truly effective way to count pressure. Yes, you have a V-rev but it just does not give people a long enough breathing room.

That's not a bad idea, they just did it wrong. For example, why not have a tutorial mode that is extremely detailed teaching new players how to think about a match? The tutorial in SFV is bad. Why not have the main menu of the game link their twitch channel/live stream of a premier tournament? Their premier tournaments are great advertisement for the game's excitement and what's possible under the hands of a skilled player. Why not have a great single player mode? Their intention was great. Their execution was horrible because they did not recognize what the casual player wanted and what it takes to get them interested in it competitively. As a result, they screwed over both the beginner and expert players.

The fact that they expect *ONLINE* play to be a forced mode of training is a fucking joke. Yeah, an environment where everyone is allowed to rage quit or you get blamed for rage quitting when the server breaks, where you're not feeling the tension of the guy next to you, where the server can lag as much as it wants, where there's nothing at stake, that's how they want their players training for the tourneys. Instead of just letting people learn the game against the computer like everything else out there.

I had to laugh at this for several reasons but the main one is his hate for the DP change (which didn't affect his main). Tbh, almost EVERY fighting game makes you lose meter to do a reversal (some games like GG and BB you spend meter to do great damage). In SFV, Ryu and Ken could turtle, do great damage, and go ham w/o spending alot of resource. To me (and obviously alot of people that was a problem (and that not counting Ryu could stop cross ups with a jab get a mix up). I get it, most of you guys love SF4's goofy set play vortex antics. BTW, this isn't the first SF game to be offensive heavy without meterless DP's. SF Alpha was like that too. Also, I actually like the fact that 5 new characters will be announced which betters the chance of someone liking them but people are so darn close minded it hurt... Last, Akuma not strong? You got to be kidding me Akuma's one of the few old characters that got all of his tools back and more (Hell my favorites Juri, Ibuki, and Balrog got neutered for their movesets, but Balrog is top tier?)! Explain that logic...

Guile is the only character capable of zoning on SFV. And about akuma, you might be right about his kit but it works like shit. Demon flip and its follow ups are slow and clunky as fuck, his capacity for mix ups was greatly reduced because of that. The only good tool for that now on oki is his forward fierce. I blame how sfv works, i feel like he is pretty average for a character that was made to be a glass cannon.

also akuma is not strong, demon flip isn't a mixup, it's terrible, jump back throw os beats meaty forward+hp, his v reversal sucks, dp nerf affects him, lowest life/stun in game (balrog and cammy absolutely shit on him because of this) crossup tatsu isn't comboable into anything even in vtrigger, raging demon costs a whole super bar + your whole v trigger, bad neutral buttons, bad fireballs (very slow recovery, very easy to jump over) air fireball isn't real.
@AveMcree
@AveMcree 7 жыл бұрын
they buffed and nerfed his longest poke cr.MK so thats a debate of its own. He got his jab back from previous SF games (which will more than likely be nerfed again like in every current SF game). He still has issues AA jump-in. No cross-up (nothing new). He lost his advantage on forward throws. He got a DP motion for his some what useless smash move which grants him a new meterless combo (big wow). He literally is in the same place that he was last season. Let be real, Infiltration is salty and I love this dude.
