How install an aftermarket amplifier on a Camaro (subthump FARK HARNESS)

Subthump didn’t mention the ground loop isolator. Also his video of the kit said that center dash speaker would work with the kit. Hmmm Is there a video of the Center speaker wiring? 😊

You might need it…. it’s not a must, since in the video I had a cheap amp I needed it but now with the new amp I have I don’t need it anymore!

This is exactly what I been lookin for. I changed my rear 6x9s without changing the amp. The speakers didn’t work. And I lost my back up chimes. I saw the sub thump kit and was like “I wonder if anyone made a video on this”. Question. What amp do you recommend I replace it with? Also does center dash speaker still work?

What battery cable do you disconnect first and which one do you put back on first

I don’t remember what I did in this video but the correct way is disconnecting: negative first and then positive a connecting: positive and then Negative

So for this we don’t use any ground from the car to amp just the harness?

you do need a ground and positive from the cars battery

Do you mean what way does the cable go? They will work either way, at longest they are connected to the same colors

Hey bro I have a question for you I use the subthump harness but I noticed my radio and after market amp turns on for a few minutes when I open driver door. Then it turns off a few minutes later I was thinking is there another remote turn on wire that can be used for the amplifier (after market) ? Or does your system turns on when you open driver door then turns off when you close door with out putting in your key in the ignition?? Also I’m dealing with turn off pop any help I appreciate it

I didn’t really get to see when exactly it turns off because my radio shuts off as soon as the key leaves the ignition.. Also I upgraded my amplifier right after that video ( 4 days later) and that one does not have a remote wire and instead turns off when the radio does so I didn’t use the remote wire from the harness for this amp Now of course you can use a different remote wire, tap in in your fuse box and run a wire to the amplifier! Thats is correct in the video I connected the negative to the battery, I have a video waiting to be uploaded by next week, the video is about hiding the amp and making everything look like factory, there I used a different ground So stay tuned 😉

The whine is usually with the engine as you rev ( I had this problem) and a ground loop isolator is a hit or miss, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but its worth to take a chance before you go through bigger headaches

Hey Robert, Using the p3 gague my middle voltage was 14.3-4. After the install I looked to see if any strange voltage was happening and everything seemed normal. Hope this helped Dont forget to like and subscribe!

Hey man, thanks for the video. I have the Boston Acoustics and I bought a 4 channel app and the door speakers both woofers and tweets. Can use the existing amp with my rear speakers and run another amp off of the first to power all the door speakers. I haven't' taken the doors apart but I really want to make sure I can tackle this project and I know how to best wire it before I take the car apart.
