Here's a hug and a message for Soraya. From now on when faced with stressful situations that make you anxious, always cast your mind back to that hospital bed when you faced genuine fear and grew braver having come through it. I hope that surgery will help keep things in perspective for you all your life. That's a badge of courage, not a scar. By the way, I wore a small heel lift inside my shoe for some time to help even out my leg lengths (twisted spine). It really helped ease the pain that was developing in my hips from limping a little all the time.

Soraya: As you grow up, use your imagination if asked about your scar. Tell people it was from a shark attack! Or, a polar bear attack! My grandmother used to make up all kinds of exotic stories for scars. Have fun with your "badge of honor". You've done so well.

lol.. my sister used to make up amazing stories about her leg scar (from a car accident) her favorite was a shark attack.. Living in Australia everyone believed that one but she had many more, used to keep us entertained for years.. So I support this idea wholeheartedly!

@@cherylmillard2067 as a Nurse I can tell you small children would not necessarily care to learn about diseases. I had surgery as a sophomore in high school (Texas, USA) and I was bullied incessantly due to the location and general immaturity of Junior and High school age children. Most adults want to learn (maybe a few college kids) but rarely do children behave appropriately with diseases, syndromes or anything….. I don’t wish for Soraya to get bullied but she can tell fantastic stories until she finds someone who truly wants to know. ❤️🥰🙏🏻🇺🇸👍🏻🤗

👍👍👍. My son had same operation after having several surgeries from birth cuz was born with two club feet that was very severe. One leg was a little longer afterwards but never bothered him. Years later a screw was paining him and they removed it and was amazed how well the bones had become part of his body by being strong. It’s such a miracle what medicine can do. You’re such a beautiful girl and the scar only adds to your beauty. Wear it proudly for the quality of life it has given you. So many wonderful people doing kind things to let you know they care. You look beautiful sitting on that huge beautiful horse just like a princess. 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
