The America Subway has been in service over 100 years; China just constructed may be 20 years ago. You can’t compare the New York subway with the newly constructed subway in China. It’s like compare an old Royce with Tesla. The US has free flow of people whereas China controls the movement of people and especially certain ethnic groups like Uighur and Tibetan. The number of death result from crime on New York subway can’t come close to the Zheng Zhou subway flood one year ago. The number of deaths reported over thousand. So much for new defective subway system.
@RafaGoesAround Жыл бұрын
When comparing technologies used for the construction and operation of the subway, yes, you are absolutely right, China is newer and more advanced, nothing to compare there. But when it comes to maintenance, safety, cleanliness, punctuality and efficiency, you can’t justify America for not complying with basic standards. That “freedom” you are talking about is now allowing drugs, deadly massive shootings, social inequality, these are serious problems that China would never see. Anyway, this video is focusing on how the experience of riding a subway is totally different in world class cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Harbin, Chongqing, Shanghai or Suzhou, rather than the one you can get in San Francisco, New York or Philadelphia. Thanks for watching
@fukinyouup Жыл бұрын
@@RafaGoesAround It has nothing to do with the system of government -- Japan is a democracy but has one of the cleanest and most punctual transit systems in the world. New York City is just incompetent in running its metro system. America has literally one of the worst public transportation systems in the world, I don't know why people think they're making a point when they compare American public transportation to other countries. The New York Times publishes an article every week about how awful the MTA is. Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Zurich, Stockholm, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, etc. all have very clean and modern transit systems with 97-99% punctuality and New York has a punctuality of like 60%. You can have a country with punctual transit that also manages to not imprison people for simply protesting against the government.

I have been to the US twice and on my last trip I was still admired by the technology when witnessed from the window of the bus a bridge being built from one side of a cliff across to the other side somewhere close to Hoover dam in 2009 as far as I can remember, since then everything started to change while China devoted all its efforts into building a society for the wellbeing of its people, the US just spent time smearing and hindering China unwittingly ignoring the wellbeing of the most valuable core asset of a country, its people, this has been attributed to the selfish narrow hegemonic mindset strategy of the politicians, representatives of the country's stake holders, By sacrificing the wellbeing of the people in return for their own benefits they have directly turned the US into a hell on earth as we can see it today.

100% agreed! As a New Yorker who used to live near Philadelphia for a while, the sad reality is that the MTA in NYC is one of the best public transit systems in the US... which is more a commentary on how HORRIBLE public transit is in the United States than anything else. The automobile industry absolutely CRUSHED any real prospects for public transit growth from the 1950s onwards under the false promises of car ownership for all offering a more comfortable and upscale alternative, when in reality it only lead to a large portion of the American landscape being a desolate mess of parking garages and generic shopping malls that you can see anywhere in the country, with an insurmountable wave of endless traffic jams. I can only hope that in the future, my own people will see the folly of this model and the lack of sustainability for the future, and learn from our neighbors, friends, and family abroad.

We should be asking why are there so many mentally ill people in the US. Think about it, the richest country in the world should also be the most hopeful, has the most resources available, has the highest happiness, least stress country in the world. Yet, Americans are constantly some of the most overworked, indebted, stressed, least hopeful and has the least amount of resources available for themselves and their family. IIRC, 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Is it really overspending, or is it that everything is expensive, and Americans are extracted for the wealth? Even if we assume that Americans are indeed overspending, where does the culture of overspending, indebtedness come from? Who created such a culture? Who can possibly social engineered and manipulate 300 million people into constantly overspending, and over-consume? Who has created a culture of alienation, selfishness, self-centeredness and complete lack of civic duty and community? Who really have the power to do that in the USA? Yes, it's the capitalists. Every problem in America, healthcare, racism, low savings, instability, over-consumption, selfish, depressed mentally-ill culture can be traced back to the American bourgeoisie, the capitalist, the oligarchs, the plutocrats that have designed and enforced a system of over-exploitation both at home and aboard. That's why America is collectively going insane. What America needs is a socialist revolution.

Visul american? A devenit un cosmar fara sfarsit! In China sunt reguli care sunt respectate, sunt oameni cuminti si muncitori. Ei nu pot fi altfel decat asa! Esti in siguranta oriunde si la orice ora....Din Romania.

That’s false. Lots of theft . Mass stabbings are horrific.

@15:54: here, you see China’s subway gives priority seating to women riders in certain subway carriages. In USA the subway criminals give women priority.

NYC subway looks exactly the same as it was in the 1970s when I was a small child living in Brooklyn: Old, dirty, and dilapidated...🤮

You guys that sound so amazed in the comment about how far behind and underdeveloped the subway in America is compared to other countries around the world, it's because the media is mostly influenced by the US and they only show you the best parts of the cities and country. The glamour you see in videos is merely a small percentage of what the country looks like, not what you get in reality once you come here.

US ranked No. 3 for overall infrastructure. China outside top 20, obviously. All these China clips are cherrypicked shite. The same thing Chinese people complain about the US. Hypocrites!

我是中国人,我向你保证,中国所有的地铁都和视频里展示的一样,只不过是装修风格不同而已。

I've ridden both systems, and there's an extreme night and day difference. New York City is literally a cesspool compared to Beijing and Shanghai.

you haven't seen the beijing or shanghai metro at night because they shut down the subway and the lights at 10 pm

Philadelphia bus station is very ugly too. Not just the station, it's including staff. They are not friendly and don't want to help their customers. Not sure why they bother to take the jobs. I'm talking about Greyhound bus station. I never feel comfortable anywhere I go in the US other than tourist areas or small town.

china is another world....high-tech and more like a civilization...in china, when you take subway, the stations are roomie and bright that you may forget you are under the ground.

As someone who lives in American I haven't used public transportation since 2001 and those were the good days. I doubt I'll ever use it the rest of my life even in other states. I can assure you china, Japan, and Korea has the best public transportation in the entire world. In Korea you can sleep in the stations if you're homeless and no one will ever bother you. I can't say the same for the other 2.
@kevinxutmxk Жыл бұрын
Do you only think that homeless people can sleep at the station? Why don't you think about why there are homeless people? Why make them homeless? In fact, there are people sleeping inside Beijing West Station, but they are not homeless.😢
