How is the famous attar of Kannauj made? | The Hindu

It takes more than 1000kg of rose petals to make just 6-8ml of Attar, or perfume oil. Good quality attar can fetch up to Rs. 10,000.
With no electricity and heavy machinery, perfumers in Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh have been making attar using the century-old Deg and Bhapka method.
We travelled to India’s perfume capital to find out how the famous attars are made.
We also see how attar different from regular perfume.

If 100K give you 8 gm. This needs to be stopped. No one is Going to earn. Let there be other ways to have profitable Perfumery business and this process be one among them as an exclusive. Keep the pricr super high to lear earning come and must.not be left as only as a symbolic process.

Ppl only say, farmer should get the benefits and whatnot..blah blah but actually doesn't give a f bout these farmers. Ppl will never ask the govt as to why farmers condition have worsen under this govt? In every sector where there's farmers are involved the situation is like this. Absolutely bonkers.
