I have had my note 8 for a good couple of years now. I still see no need to upgrade yet. there are no apps it cannot run. While new phones are kind of better in each way, slightly better camera's, slightly bigger screen, slightly faster, they are not significantly better that I think, omg I have to upgrade, I certainly cannot justify the cost in upgrading, also things like the note 8 still has a headphone port and and sdcard slot give it an advantage for me over newer phones. My carrier keeps phoning to try and get me to update, but unless my phone actually breaks I cannot forsee me changing it any time soon.

i brought my galaxy Note 8 for $ 25.99 dollars off ebay the seller thought it was broken because the phone didn't power on only thing that was wrong with the device is the battery was completely dead after i received the note 8 i plug my charger into the phone and about an hour i turned on the phone it booted right up
@MayitoTek2 жыл бұрын
yeah that makes sense.. Is pretty expensive to replace the battery on devices like the Note 8 . I remember this was the first phone that really requires a special machine to remove the back panel and attach it again ( to be done properly ) .. have you replaced the battery and how much does it cost now ?

I'm using my Note 8 as main device with 2 Sim cards. Great phone. Just sometimes you do feel the slowdowns. And the battery is very bad. Note 9 got a much bigger battery.
@chriscowey74642 жыл бұрын
Funny another friend who swears by his 9, also said his only main issues was the battery life on the 8. I am having no such issues though, I also do not feel any slowdowns, maybe its just the apps I use. Then in all honestly my note 4 pretty much handles everything I needed it too (other than VR).

@@chriscowey7464 since then I have changed the battery at an official Samsung place and the battery life is great now. The guy at the shop told me that my old battery was at 60% of its original capacity :P

3:03 Dude..... For a 4 year old phone your note 8's charging port is super clean 👌 i think you hadn't used that phone very much in whole 4 years 😀 Maintained very well 👏

Nice view to find out about. Definmetley enjoyable watch for me. Got a Note 8 (inmsurance/replacement from Note 4 about 23 months ago) love the Samsung Galaxy Note feel and definetley despair with the idea of a smaller screen. But with moderate GPS/web use meaning I need to charge 3+ times a day - guess its time for an upgrade. Think is I don't touch the S Pen so its a waste for me. Any suggestions of a good replacement for a Note user?
@MayitoTek3 жыл бұрын
you may be able to get a good deal from Samsung or one of the carriers for a trade in on the Note 8 . Just keep checking on their sites. If you don't care for the Spen , you can look into the S20 FE Edition, S20 +/Ultra, or one of the S21 ( ultra/S21+) .. from the Note Series you cant go wrong with the Note 10+ or Note 20 Ultra (camera is a huge improvement ) .. but I will suggest to wait until early next year when Samsung releases the S22 series, that will mean that prices will drop on all devices mentioned above, or you can go for the latest S22 if you don't care about paying more money . That is what I dont like about not having the ability to remove the battery , if you use your phone alot you will see a drop in performance on battery after a year and only gets worst after that .

The phone is not bad. It is just sad Samsung doesnt support their devices for long.

specially when a device is still performing very well . It was understandable before when older devices would get very slow and became practically unusable .

@@MayitoTek My thoughts entirely. I do think they phase phones out well before they are anywhere near their end of life. I even booted up my note 3 the other day, could still surf pretty much fine on it. (okay you could tell it was slower than the 8, but it was still useable. For a laugh then dug out my htc one x, while not a great experience, it still surfed the net, just slowly, but at a push, it kind of did the job. So seeing how the one x performed, I found my htc wildfire...that however was just terrible, that phone has defo hit its end of life :p

Bought mine for less than 150. Screen is beautiful but not so the battery. The capacity was around 70%. I don't know whether I should replace it myself. Otherwise it would cost more than half the price of the phone
@MayitoTek2 жыл бұрын
Yeah , replacing the battery is pretty expensive . I think for the note 8 you need a special device to remove and attach the back panel . but pretty sure you can find some other ways to do it online. Worst case scenario , if you mess up the back panel you can always use a case

I could convince myself for an update to any other phone or even note series from Note 8 which i have been using since 2018. especially because of the Heart rate and SPo2 sensors

I agree, no more security updates for Note 8. That one reason why I decided to upgrade my S9 to a S21 because it had less than a year of security updates.

Funnily enough while I love my note 8. I only actually upgraded from my 4 as I wanted to use VR, which the minimum was a note 8. I still have the note 4 as a backup phone (I actually also have a note 3 too, which is my backup, backup :p) and its still does everything I need. (tbh even the note 3 is still very useable).
