On any version of SF2 you simply couldn't fight Zangief normally and expect to win nine times out of ten. The go to tactic was just neutral jumping and hitting him with either a heavy kick or a heavy punch in rhythm with his approach repeatedly, but it was character hurt box dependant. The alternative was using the back throw tactic, but your timing and spacing had to be precise. Try to fight him normally? Forget it, you either got SPD repeatedly grabbing your neutral whiff from about two miles across the screen, or you got the face pump of death like seen in this video. Every character in that series had a specific tactic to beat him, because the game was actually exploited as being deliberately broken. Like really, the computer literally cheats by warping and changing hit box and frame properties mid match, someone did a video on it a good while back.

You’re mistaken on the first part. But you do have to make it there without losing a single round or some shit.
@PikangsFutaba3 жыл бұрын
@@OmegaFujin In SF2T you can actually lose a round or two, as long as you're fast to reach Bison and do other conditions (the most obvious one is that you cannot lose matches), in Hyper the round lost condition was changed to never lose a round (you need to complete at least 2 conditions... which aside of the rounds and reach Bison fast I can't remember the rest... I think one of those is get at least 2 perfects and 2 Super Combo finishers... thes Super Combo finishers condition only is enabled if you use a normal SSF2T version of the character you pick... as long as it's not Akuma himself), and also if you're playing SSF2T you can rematch as much as you want (asuming the game doesn't have enabled the option of getting instant Game Over if you lose a single match), Hyper and Ultra SF2 aren't that gentle with the player if they fail to beat Akuma. About rematching Akuma as a secret boss... ONLY in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is possible, if you try to do it on Hyper or Ultra, you get stuck against Bison (meaning that you have to do the entire Arcade run all over again), and to be honest, Akuma isn't very difficult as his AI is almost the same on all "difficulties" (yeah, I said difficulty on quotes because there is little to no difference between difficulties in the Arcade version of SSF2T as long as you DON'T play the JPN version), I usually don't struggle that much against Akuma in SSF2T/Hyper and Ultra SF2, but in SFA/Zero series is another story for me.

In Super Turbo, Super Turbo Revival, Hyper, and HD Remix (cannot vouch for Ultra yet, as I haven't gotten to do a run where I take on him), the version of Akuma that you fight at the end (if you got up to Master Bison without Continues and get a High Score or reach him in less than 025 Minutes) is Shin Akuma, which explains why he has certain extra frames to work with for Damage Output and why he can do a Dual Aerial Hadouken while regular Akuma can't; it's fortunate that you can play as Shin Akuma in Super Turbo Revival, Hyper++ (specialized Arcade Mod of Hyper), and Ultra, especially if you want to have an easy breeze through the game on Difficulty 08, a lot of what you can do as him is definitely nasty and it's welcoming that the Japanese version of Super Turbo and all scripts for Revival even give him a proper backstory so that viewers and players can understand why the "Shadow of Akuma" is pretty much out for the blood of his normal form. (:

Super Street Fighter 2 was programmed where the computer player automatically counters every specific attack and move the human player does. It cheats like crazy. It is faster and does more damage than the human can do using a controller or arcade stick. The game was designed to eat quarters. When ported over, the coding was never removed. I've seen many people lose. The game programmers also favored certain characters too. In the 90s, Capcom programmed their games to cheat at all costs. Street Fighter 2 and its sequels were renowned for it. They didn't make in-depth, comprehensive games. They were all about visuals, simple characters and making the game cheat to extend the playing time for the player. Because otherwise, the games would last 14 minutes long. This is why AI is bad. Imagine AI designing software, devices, robots, cars and beings where it can counter anything a human tries to do to control it. Every command, every instruction, everything. This was what The Terminator was about.
