1944 was about the deportation of Crimean Tatars (and Chechens) in 1944 in horrible conditions during which almost half of them died- one of crimes of communist regime. And Ukraine didn't loose Crimea (not a thing to loose), it was occupied by ruSSia, which then occupied Donbass in a dastardly hybrid WAR which has been going on for >7 years. You probably were trying to recall about Holodomor in 1932-33, a genocide by artificial famine, when millions of Ukrainians were starved to death as a part of stalin's "fight with Ukrainian nationalism".

Ukraine withdrew in 2019 because some of the contestants made pro-Russian political statements during the Vidbir. They basically said that Crimea is Russian which is a big "no no" in Ukraine. It caused a huge discussion in society about how the singers were selected to represent Ukraine. Anyway, Maruv won. But after the victory, she refused to sign the agreement with the national broadcasting company because they added the point that required the Ukrainian representative in the Eurovision song contest to refrain from public comments on the Russian-Ukrainian war and visiting Russia during the song contest. If she won Eurovision, she would be banned from visiting Russia with concerts the whole year. So it's not the politics, it's only Maruv's selfish motives to make money in the country that kills Ukrainians every year. As for me, it's good that she refused to take a part in the contest. She is not worthy to represent Ukraine. Currently, she has concerts only in Russia and advertises laxative medicine in her clips...seriously I'm not even joking. I'm very pleased with her fate 😏

Что за бред ты тут написала? Чую звон, не знаю где он? Я внимательно следил за тем конкурсом и помню как Притула и Джамала пытались утопить Марув прямо во время отбора. Кто из конкурсантов сказал что Крым больше не Украинский? Может кто то с другой группы? Конкретику пожалуйста, как это к Марув относится? Ей прямым текстом прямо на сцене задали вопрос "чей Крым?" и она без доли сомнения четко ответила "конечно же Крым часть Украины". Если ты не в курсе, то голосованием жюри её слили так что бы она даже в первую тройку не попала, никто не ожидал что она получит так много голосов от народного голосования, что перебило все ожидания продажного жюри и даже с минимальными баллами от жюри она выиграла первое место. Она была готова отказаться от гастролей по оркостану, но ей выставили кабальный контракт, в котором на весь период Евровидения она не имеет права лишний раз даже поздороваться с кем то, за одно слово сказанное ей, которое не согласовано в контракте, на неё вешался штраф в несколько миллионов гривен, при этом за участие в конкурсе ей не только не платили ни одной гривны, ей даже билеты на самолёт и гостиницу не оплачивали, всё за свой счет, перелёт группы и проживание, питание - за свой счет и так далее. Такие условия контракта были выдвинуты для того что бы она отказалась от участия, потому что Петя (он же предатель Украины и основатель партии Регионов) собирался отправить туда другого участника. А еще причина а в том, что было ясно, она безоговорочно победит, западу в том году не надо было следующее Евровидение в Украине. На данный момент я не знаю её судьбу, но в Украине её слили, её родина в лице правительства Порошенка "сунула ей палку в колёса" и даже не смотря на то, что народным голосованием люди однозначно проголосовали за неё, карьеру в Украине ей не дали бы сделать. Случись этот конкурс при Зеленском, она бы поехала, выступала бы за Украину и принесла бы еще одну победу в нашу страну и не поехала бы на гастроли во враждебный оркостан.

I too love Wild Dances 💕😍 It's in GTA 4? Cool😎 I like the 2005 entry too. In 2007 Molitiva won for Serbia - I prefer Verka but I think Serbia's victory was deserved and necessary. 2008 the Ukraine deserved to win though - I'd trade that Russian victory for one in 2016. I love Shum too.

I was SOOO upset when Maruv didn't represent Ukraine in 2019, she would have been a huge contender to win (based on the feedback of most people). Sadly, the politics was involved and she was basically pushed to withdraw even though she won the national selection and had a huge chance to win the whole Eurovision:/ Few months later after the national selection she had a concert in Prague and it was fabulous!! 🔝 And Go_A? LOVE THEM!! In Eurovision I've always supported songs with traditional instruments, native languages and other ethnic elements ❤️ And the fusion of traditional folk Slavic music with modern vibes works incredibelly well! Glad they finished in top 5 this year (and even the fact that 4 songs out of the top 5 were in native languages is amazing) ❤️❤️ No wonder Ukraine is the only country that has always qualified for the Grand Final, they absolutely wonderful! And I was happy that Maruv didn't disgrace Ukraine with such representation: with a soft-porn style act suitable for night clubs but not for family-friendly Eurovision. She just used the scandal to promote herself and got much more promotion without spending any money and time on actual Eurovision performance and routine than if she competed. She didn't deserve to represent Ukraine if she doesn't care about the country and the WAR and spends most of her time entertaining the aggressors in their homes in ruSSia. And looking at her now, degraded in her songs to a slut level, I feel even more relieved that she didn't represent Ukraine. She gets awards for this in ruSSia, where she should stay.

Українці дуже раді що Марув не поїхала на Євробачення від України. Вважаю що не можна колаборантам під час війни представляти країну. Не розумію чому це потрібно пояснювати. Та й сам виступ скандальний, Україна може обійтись без цього. Порівняйте виступ GO_A та Марув і ви зрозумієте про що я пишу.

Ukraine withdrew in 19 because of good ol' politics. The Ukrainian broadcaster wanted to forbid Maruv from touring in Russia with the Eurovision contract. Russia being a place where she has a pretty big following. Maruv, of course, declined which lead to the withdraw
