Бугай(bugai)- accompanying friction musical instrument, which in timbre resembles the roar of the bugai. It is a small box - a wooden cylinder, in which the upper opening is covered with leather. A bundle of horse hair is attached to the skin in the center. It is used as a bass instrument.

Bugai is an instument that immitates the cry of Eurasian bittern. It's a swamp/river bird that makes a very low sounds almost subwoofer like

Onuka is translated as "granddaughter" from the Ukrainian language. The artist's grandfather is a craftsman who made traditional Ukrainian musical instruments. From him, the singer inherited a love to traditional music, an excellent musical ear and skills in playing many instruments. She is awesome, fenomenal artist and really diamond of Ukrainian music

The hairs still go up along the arms every time I listen to this. The combination of her sweet voice, the perfect neoclassical songwriting, and the genius of how she combines the ancient & makes it sound so unique and futuristic. Oh & what a stunning woman she is.
Sopilka is one of the oldest wind musical instruments in Ukraine. The sound of a sopilka is very gentle, in some ways even similar to the sound of a flute. It has a whistle device and up to ten finger holes on its body. Historical facts testify that, in general, sopilkas were made by craftsmen from wood - elderberry or viburnum. For the manufacture of modern nozzles, maple, walnut, beech, linden or plastic are used. To date, there are many different types of this musical instrument, differing in their ranges and timbres of sound. Origin of the nozzle Sopilka, photo 1 Ukraine is considered to be the birthplace of this musical instrument.

Є версия, що інструмент назвали так на честь одноімененого птаха, а не бика.....голос у цього птаха дуже схожий по звучанню...:)

In the Carpathians, you can still hear the loud sound of trembita. Trembita reported about the exit of the sheep to the pasture, warned of the approach of the enemy. It was played when a child was born. With trembita they caroled, she was also invited to the wedding. The sound of trembita can be heard for 10 km. Although trembita is long, it is not at all heavy - up to 1.5 kg. Therefore, it is easy to hold it during the game. For the manufacture of tools, spruce, which was struck by lightning, is often chosen. Interestingly, the longest musical instrument in the world was made by Ukrainians. Its length can reach 8 m, and it takes about 2 years to make a unique instrument.

Bandura or Kobza is a Ukrainian multi-stringed plucked musical instrument, played with the fingers of the right hand. The bandura has an oval body and a short neck. The strings (on old instruments 12-25, on modern 53-70) are partly stretched over the neck (the so-called basses, longer, low-sounding), partly attached to the deck (the so-called stringers, shorter, sounding high). The bandura is distinguished by its fullness of sound and a bright characteristic timbre. They play the bandura by plucking the strings with their fingers with or without special “nails”. In Ukraine, since the 17th century, the bandura replaced the kobza, and the name "kobza" was transferred to the bandura.

Cymbals - an echo of trinity music In Ukraine, cymbals "rooted" in the 17th century. It is a stringed instrument that produces sound after point beats. It was more often used as an accompaniment, but there were exceptions: for example, in the Dnieper region, cymbals were assigned the role of a solo instrument. For a long period of time, cymbals were one of the main instruments of "troist music" - a kind of first Ukrainian ensembles that created musical accompaniment at weddings, christenings and other folk festivals within the villages. They performed mainly dance and song melodies. This is probably why cymbals are usually remembered in a general context with the history of Ukrainian choreography.

This is not a guitar, but Domra - a plucked musical instrument, often with four (sometimes three) strings. Appeared in Ukraine in the days of Kievan Rus. Similar to the Russian balalaika, but with four strings instead of three - and a round wooden base

Bugai is an ancient musical instrument that was popular in Western Ukraine. This is a wooden barrel, covered with leather on both sides, and on one side a bundle of horsehair is attached to the skin. You need to hold the barrel tightly, and pull the tail with a wet hand - from this the musical instrument makes a sound similar to the cry of a bull (hence the name).

Panflute is the name of a multi-barreled flute, which has taken root in the European musical tradition. Almost every nation in the world has its own such device. All of them are similar in design, but differ in the range of sound and appearance. One feature unites them into a single class - the presence of several (from 3 to several dozen) wind tubes, with the help of which sound is extracted. History of the instrument The flute was the logical development of the whistle as a sound-producing device. The first whistles date back to the primitive era. The very first flutes are of ancient Egyptian origin (about 5000 BC), and multi-barreled versions appeared already in ancient Greece.
