Love the reverse film: dump truck sucking up a load of gravel, fresh cement disappearing up a chute, large beams knitting back together with a chainsaw... entertaining and oddly saddening as I watched all that hard work undone. Anyway, YES! this has been a long and difficult journey for you. Cock-ups happen, but it's how artfully they're corrected that counts! I've been fascinated with this build for a long time-- and you really ROCK with all this effort-- can't wait to see the finished build!

Hi, Alex! Tiago, from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. I'm excited to follow all the episodes of this project. The construction style reminded me of the first houses built by Italian immigrants here in the Serra Gaúcha region, Rio Grande do Sul, around the years 1850-1910. Keep it up, greetings.

Please shout out to me and hubby next video!! We watch once the two kids are in bed. This counts as a date night right? 😅 We always wonder why you chose such huge heavy timber? Aesthetics? Over engineered? Love from Canberra Australia

Too bad he didn't answer your question during the shout-out 😟 ... I m guessing esthetics, it looks to be the same size as timber framed houses usually use. Now these houses might have 2 or more floors and have wider roof-spans to bridge so it's appropriate there. So i guess he wants the same dimensions people are used to, but seeing how heavy oak is and how much he struggles i too wonder if a lighter frame with some faux oak cladding on the outside wouldn't have been better. But he's committed now and since it's all diy and his first building, he probably just didn't know what he signed up for.
