Mechanics. A lot of MMO games have these. FFXIV has them in almost every boss fight. I don’t remember which dungeon but there is a debuff you get that can only be cancelled out by the /soothe emote (I thought this was kinda silly tbh). It makes fights a lot less brain dead. Some people like them, others don’t. Then there are some where they went WAY overboard with mechanics making them almost impossible without good RNG.

I just started playing recently with friends and it’s a damn good game. I have a few critiques, mainly faulty environmental hazards and faulty weapon mechanics (not switching from grenades to firearms, switching firearms and they don’t work, bullets hit but do no damage for a few seconds), but other than mechanical issues the biggest challenge I’ve had is keeping three other people to stay together lol.
