Dropped our wonderful, kind, funny, loving daughter off yesterday. My goodness, the memories are painful. Grateful to have her in our lives.

I agree with you! Fathers deserve much more credit than they get. They love just as much, protect, and provide. My husband is a wonderful father and I always make sure our little ones acknowledge all he does for our family ❤

Thanks for the video. Best of luck to your stepdaughter. Easy to see the love you both have for each other. We’re dropping our oldest off at school next week. I expect lots of tears.

Thank you for this. Interestingly enough we are sending our daughter south to Santa Barbara City College from the Bay Area. I’m so sad right now because her and Mom just left. I’ve been crying for 2 days 😭

Thanks for watching. Well, ours moved back home after a year. She wanted to be closer to home so now going to Orange Coast College nearby. You never know. It seems most will return home for at least a bit during or after college before really leaving the nest for good, so I imagine yours will be back at some point. Good luck.

Beautiful heartfelt video, I just finished my video and I too had so many emotions. Instead of journaling I had to make a video, it’s therapeutic for me as a video editor. The hardest part for me was going back home to the empty room. We moved our son from SoCal to NorCal just like you. Feels like he’s on another planet even though it’s just 6 hours away. Hang in there, I hope it gets better for us sooner than later.

Oh man, you had me choking up, both at the beginning and the end! Mine is only 4yo and I am already 'dreading' this :-) Luckily she is now in the phase "we will stay together forever" or "I will marry my mommy" :-DD The two of us drove yesterday to pick up a "new to us" the exact same grill your friends in Carmel have. I guess we should celebrate with ribeyes as well :-) My monkey got to sit in the front seat "daddy, i can see everything from here!" on the way back with the grill in the trunk and over folded back seats. I did not drive steering with my knee though :-DDD My wife and daughter have match/match T-shirts with Maya Angelou, it was great to see the quote. Lovely vid, lovely Kristina, all the best to her! Thanks for sharing.

I’m up in Canada. Living in Manitoba. She’s going to University in BC first year. Saw her off a week before University started. It was hard. It’s a beautiful campus. I cried and when the memories start it really hurts. My little girl my first girl is on her own. My movie partner and first good ball. I have a younger daughter at home and she misses her just as bad.

Best of luck to you. I can only say from experience it definitely gets easier, especially when you find out she’ll be coming home more often than you realized for various breaks, winter, summer, etc. Enjoy the new beginnings into her adulthood.

Good luck. I will say it gets easier. And then they also come back for several breaks from college, summer break, etc. You begin to realize they aren’t really going anywhere but it definitely starts the process of independence and young adulthood.
