These pillar is for defensive purpose (slowing us down, used as cover during combat), the same reason why castle and defensive tower are steep/hard to climb. Remember, we're raiding these dude places.

Cool little glitch for those who don’t know. I recently discovered that if you use volts shock ability and helmeth that onto gauss, as your using his sprint and then shock, you can run around like volt with quick turns. Once you stop moving or shoot you have to repeat it, but it’s fun little thing I figured out.

That's why we go with the OG Speedster! Which is Volt! Volt can turn way easier than Gauss. When you play on open maps yes sure but when you play on missions like Eris or Deimos then you need to also be able to turn apart from running. Yes okay I might be a "Volt Main" player but to describe a frame as "the best" needs to fulfil my qualifications and Volt Doesn't. For me a frame to be called The best needs to qualify on the following. 1. to be able to exceed in every mission type and complete them as efficiently as possible. 2. Needs to have a some Kind of crowd control skill Slow, Freeze, Panic (causing enemies to fight each other) etc. 3. Armor/Shield Striping. 4. Being able to withstand a nuclear blast from 4m proximity. So far only a few frames can Qualify for my standards and Volt or even Gauss are not in the list. Yes sure Helminth is a thing however they cannot do all these things with a SINGULAR Build.

Accurate I once put in every mod I could to boost movement on gauss. Less slide traction Sprint speed increase Less gravity on bullet jumps And it all amounted to me running for .5 seconds and getting stuck on walls immediately.

They should rectify that by coding Gauss to have like a really high dmg multiplier against structures that can take dmg. Any structure that doesnt get destroyed by Gauss' speed will be destroyed nonetheless but Gauss takes dmg relative to the percentage of health on the structure

There’s other ways to be fast, instead of increasing straight line speed. Focus the speed within and become an A-10 warthog. Increase your ammo reserves get the hunter munitions ability make your gun as powerful and capable of replacing ammo reserves and increasing your mag and storage for the ammo. You will still go thru ammo like you wouldn’t believe. However you will mow down anything in your way. You can outgun mesa prime

SO REAL, I always try to sneak by teammates who've already opened the door XD I've also simply accepted crashing. At the end of the mission I'm the one with the highlighted stat of "100+ crates opened"

You want to be fast? Well you have to think fast too. You can roll out of Mach Rush to quickly avoid obstacles and press 1 again to resume your Rush once the roll animation is over so you keep some momentum. You can also jump over the rising pillars if you are fast enough. And about the doors, they do open fast enough to let Gauss go thru without the need to slow down, if they don't that's a high ping issue. You can either play solo or lower the maximum ping to join a squad (default is 300). And a fun fact: Gauss can perform side wall jumps while holding Mach Rush without canceling it. It doesn't have an animation so it looks like Gauss is just floating next to the wall, you can still hear the steps of the wall jump tho.
