Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Brazilian aviator, conducted his aircraft creations and demonstrations primarily in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Here are some notable dates related to his achievements: 1898: Santos-Dumont's first successful powered flight took place on July 4, 1898, in Paris, France. He flew his airship, known as the "Santos-Dumont No. 1," also referred to as the "Brazilian." This flight covered a distance of approximately 60 meters (197 feet) at a height of about 2 to 3 meters (6 to 10 feet). 1901: On September 19, 1901, Santos-Dumont made a flight in his airship, the "Santos-Dumont No. 6" or "Dirigible No. 6." This aircraft had a distinctive elongated shape and a gas bag containing hydrogen. Santos-Dumont flew the No. 6 airship from Saint-Cloud, a town near Paris, to the Eiffel Tower and circled it before returning to his starting point. 1906: One of Santos-Dumont's most famous accomplishments was his flight in the 14 Bis aircraft. On October 23, 1906, in Paris, he piloted the 14 Bis for a distance of approximately 60 meters (197 feet) in 21.5 seconds, at an altitude of about 6 meters (20 feet). This flight was witnessed by numerous spectators and is often regarded as the first publicly observed flight of a powered heavier-than-air aircraft in Europe. 1909: Santos-Dumont's last public flight took place on November 12, 1909, in Paris. He flew his Demoiselle (meaning "damselfly"), a lightweight monoplane. The Demoiselle was an influential aircraft design that inspired later developments in aviation. Santos-Dumont made a series of flights with the Demoiselle, demonstrating its maneuverability and ease of control. These are just a few notable dates related to Santos-Dumont's creations and demonstrations. His work and contributions spanned several years, and he made significant strides in the field of aviation during that time. ---------------- The Wright Brothers, Orville and Wilbur Wright, made significant advancements in aviation and conducted their notable flights in the early 20th century. Here are some important dates related to their achievements: 1900: The Wright Brothers began their serious pursuit of flight in the late 1890s, but it was in 1900 that they conducted their first major experiments. They built a series of gliders and tested them in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. These initial glider tests helped them understand the principles of flight and develop their control techniques. 1901: In 1901, the Wright Brothers continued their experiments with gliders and made significant improvements to their designs. They introduced the concept of wing-warping, a mechanism that allowed them to control the aircraft's roll. With these advancements, they achieved better stability and control during their glider flights. 1902: The Wright Brothers constructed their third glider in 1902, which featured major design improvements. They achieved more controlled and sustained glider flights, with some flights lasting up to 26 seconds. These experiments further refined their understanding of aerodynamics and control systems. 1903: The year 1903 marked a significant milestone for the Wright Brothers. They constructed their first powered aircraft, the Wright Flyer. On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, they successfully conducted the first powered, controlled, and sustained flight in a heavier-than-air aircraft. Orville Wright piloted the Flyer for a distance of 36.5 meters (120 feet) in 12 seconds. Wilbur also had a turn and covered a distance of 53.6 meters (175 feet) in 15 seconds. These flights of the Wright Flyer were pivotal in demonstrating the feasibility of powered flight and laid the foundation for further advancements in aviation. It's important to note that the Wright Brothers' achievements were based on their extensive research, engineering, and meticulous experimentation. Their aircraft incorporated innovative features like a three-axis control system and the use of a lightweight engine, which significantly contributed to the success of their flights. Their accomplishments in aviation are widely recognized and have had a profound impact on the development of aircraft technology.

The invention of airplanes shouldn't just be given to the Wright Brothers because the dream of flight has been around for centuries. Different generations have had their own input and the basic design of the wing of the airplane was already around. The Wright Brothers just continued on with the dream of flying.

I hear that airports are upgraded to higher tighter security measures for public safety reasons. For the all the people safe travels I might be a little nervous if I get on board but as long as I get my luggage safe and securely sound and I made it to my right plane ✈️ I’m not gonna go from worry to panic.
