How it's Made: Metallized Glass Bottles

Vacuum metallization is a multi-layer coating consisting of a deposit of aluminum between two applications of varnish.
The aluminum deposit is done in a vacuum, in Kolzer plants specially designed for this purpose. The base and finishing varnishes are spray applied on the varnishing line.
They may be thermally polymerized ("PU" varnish") or UV hardened ("UV" varnish).

Do you apply any base coat before metallization to improve adhesion , seems that kolzer metallization system is enough without and varnishing process. machine has any plasma system inside ?
