Fun fact, these barrel type saunas were made specifically to circumvent finnish building regulations and codes. The barrel's only good point is that it looks nice, but otherwise they're cramped, inefficient, and it should be your last option. People outside of finland don't really know that, so they just opt for the one that looks nice.

@@techmouse. Unless getting your heart rate up is dangerous to you (due to some heart condition), there's no danger. Your heart rate increases because the body needs to work harder to regulate your body temperature. At worst you might feel a slight light-headedness that clears as soon as you leave the sauna. Most people bathe in intervals, taking regular short breaks to cool down. It's especially refreshing in winter when you can cool off outside (especially in an icy lake...), then go back inside to warm up. The building codes don't have to do with dangers to your health, but that a sauna is a hot steam room and needs to be properly isolated and vapor proofed, same as a bathroom. You can't build a sauna in any old room, it'd ruin the house. Putting a "sauna cabin" like this in your backyard is a way round that because the steam just vents into the open air and they aren't considered housing, so relevant regulations don't apply to them. Also, 185 F is pretty cool for a sauna. 200 F and above is common.

185 degrees isn't that deadly. 100 degrees fahrenheit is comfortable but once it gets to like 104 is when you start sweating a lot. Hope the guy speaking was wrong

No, they are hot. Optimal is 179 degrees Fahrenheit. But you are not spending an afternoon in there, you are shooting for 20-30 minutes, though you may have to build up to that...just like you don't just run 10 miles out of the blue. Your body does not get very hot, because you sweat like mad. Your body works very hard to keep you at a safe temperature. Remember, this is air...and will not conduct anywhere near as well as water. Being submerged in water that temp will kill you in no time. Even 2 minutes in 126 degree water will scald. Sauna is like exercise, increasing the heart rate...and has similar benefits.
