I have to say, as someone who is getting into vr game development (coming from normal pc development) your videos are super inspiring :)

Another video, another day I wish that you'd just release an SDK on the Asset Store already. You could single-handedly change the VR industry if you made a VR development SDK. For real.
@okeyboy994 жыл бұрын
There is a similar alyx style SDK recently available on the unity store: assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/hurricane-vr-physics-interaction-toolkit-177300

sorry about asking something completely unrelated, but what do you use to shape out or make the map in unity? could you run down a quick tutorial about it? it's looks really great and I'd love to get into environmental art!

Unity is very powerful than it is used to be. It's a pretty baseless to think you can't make AAA games in Unity now.b
@dylanvr48204 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought he meant that they made half life alyx for a different engine but unity is still extremely powerful. Cough cough boneworks
@VSink76312 жыл бұрын
I am currently working on the basic features of half life alyx for quest and something I would like to do is make it for when you look through a wall it turns on passthrough. Just a thought and I'm gonna try making it.

Project TX 😥 where is it gone
@ronnyrrr9324 жыл бұрын
enchantedf0rest I think this is it he’s just showing the motion controls like half life’s

Concider this research, he’s testing out some cool mechanics from other vr games to find the best (I think)
@enchantedf0rest9344 жыл бұрын
Yeah I guess but I love how every project tx video he adds something epic like drones, vehicles and npc’s I just wanna see what’s next
@NimsoStudios4 жыл бұрын
This is not ProjectTX, it's 100% separate to my main projects. This is a separate project that I built specifically to recreate these mechanics as mentioned in the game concept videos. I describe how it works, then recreate it to prove the concept. I haven't used much of the concepts from HL:A if any at all in my projects, a lot of it is old VR that's been polished with these good concepts for controlling things. I wouldn't be using any of this in a personal project, I'll probably create something similar though for simpler games.

Pebis Jones IV It is the best game, totally recommened

Yeah if you like Boneworks you will definitely like Half life Alyx. Although I would recommend you learn the story of the other games beforehand and it will make your experience 100 times better

Great video! I want more insight about the heavy objects. What happens in your system if you grab a heavy box and move away from it quicker than you can drag it?

You say that you cannot move an object instantly because it has to accelerate. If you set the mass of the object to 0 then it should be able to accelerate as fast as it needs to.
@NimsoStudios4 жыл бұрын
Any physics engine that allows you to set mass to actual zero needs to be scrapped. PhysX sets a minimum of 1*10^-7 At least in Unity it does.
