I confirm that it’s worth it. I rode 2000 miles on it and it worked great. I recently upgraded to Wahoo Kickr and I highly recommend. Either way, excellent method to cycle indoors.

Don't forget the towel on the handlebars, else you'll need to replace the headset and bars with prolonged trainer use!

@@Fonkemman sweat is acidic and can cause corrosion. On an indoor trainer without much wind to suck up your sweat it drops immediately below and into your cockpit

@@nobailjustjail the accumulative corrosive effects of sweat on alloy components is pretty well known, handlebars have snapped and headsets have been ruined. If you use your bike indoors you should really unwrap your handlebars and take a look, id bet you'll find some amount of corrosion (white discolouration/brittle powder eating into the alloy) It's also pretty well known by bikepackers and tourers, as they don't ride fast enough to wick all the sweat, over the course of months without the capacity to effectively clean the bike, they can go through cockpits in a matter of a few tours

Tbh the wheel on trainer is only for either bad weather aka rain or extreme heat or it could be for when it's too cold to ride outside and snow is impossible to ride on at a quick speed.

The area where I live has terrible traffic and air pollution. Cycling early in the morning is the only good option I have. Outside of those early hours, the bike trainer is my best solution.

Right now I'm deciding between trainer and rollers. Which one should I choose? Concurrently I'm stay at home dad with my 11 month old daughter. I don't get on my bike until the afternoon and it's already dark outside. I want to ride my bike at home during the day when my daughter is sleeping. I ride my bike to rehabilitate my knees and maintain my fitness.

I have both and I would recommend getting a trainer. Rollers are more for improving your balance and handling skills - they don't do a good job of providing resistance. Also, a trainer would be safer for both yourself and your daughter or any pets in the house.

In the world of bike trainers, that is a budget item. The "fancy" trainers start at around $1,000 (Wahoo Kickr, etc.)
