You flat out described my shot process..I've been shooting for along time, and I have tried many times to explain just how I shoot,while teaching a newbe. I simply draw,aim,shoot. If I think about my shot or hold to analyze anything at all, I'll mess up my group or be off a freckle. I like to think I shoot instinctive because I don't look at my arrow, but as you said you can still see it. So I shoot 30.5" arrow, and if I use a shorter one, my shot will be off,so I don't shoot shorter ones. Maybe spine differences? Anyway, nice video I like that feeling of getting lead around by my shirt as you moved the camera. Lol Good teacher!

Thank you for this video. I watched it about 3am this morning. I was shooting high about 3 to 4 inches, and it was driving me crazy I was doing exactly what you said, caused it ,today is opening day of turkey season here in TN I almost didn't go because of it shot a few arrows this morning around 5am an hit dead on around 7am I had a turkey on the ground Thank you so much

You don’t need to hold at full draw. From my observation as you are mid draw you stop and line up your shot. Then you bring it back to full draw and let it rip. With proper form of course. Great video.

I shot instinctive all of my life and could hit anything that I could see. I want many state championships, mostly in 3-D tournaments. I moved and stopped shooting for 6 years. I moved back to Florida and in a month I won Traditional Bowhunters of Florida 2016 and I shoot just as you do. Got injuries to my right hand and still shoot but my release is spotty at best, but I'm still trying 😁 Good to see you doing videos again.

You are a natural. I shoot at 25 to 30 yards. Some days are better than others. I switch bows often and it is probably making it more difficult in becoming Robin Hood, LOL. If I shoot 12 arrows half will be perfect and half will be erratic. It is my release that needs work. I shoot three under.

Hi Jeff. My form has changed over the years as I'm a longer draw than years past. My draw now I believe is 29.25 inches maybe a little more.I just ordered black hunter longbow limbs that pull 44 to 45 lbs at my draw. I also shoot a 48 lb black hunter longbow at my draw. I just can't believe that I can shoot a black eagle outlaw 350 spine with a arrow length of 31.5 with 250 grains up front. I can shoot a 500 spine total arrow length 31 inches 200 grain up front showing a little on the week side. I could of not had these results when I first started Trad archery. Now I have more of a wing span and I'm 6 feet tall. I left my arrows full length and now cutting them shorter as I progressed..

Yes sir and I’m most cases the black hunter riser is cut well past center allowing for a much stiffer spine 👍🏻

Yes past center also I believe those black hunter reflex deflex limbs are snappy and fast. My Bearpaw Mohawk is up there but not as fast as the black hunter. The Mohawk is cut to center. I have many Trad bows, I just can't have one bow !!!

Hey Jeff, glad to see this video. You know watching you shoot in one of your video's a couple of years ago was the thing that made me want to shoot instinctive, and have you make a bow for me. I also have two 1970's vintage Wing recurve bows made by Bob Lee, 35 and 39 pounds, a Ben Pearson Golden Sovereign 70 pound recurve, and a Win&Win 70 inch ILF bow at 35 pounds. I shot all of these bows except the Ben Pearson bow, with sights and then to barebow. They all had different types of rests on them over the years which have been removed, lost or whatever. I would like to play around with a couple of them shooting instinctive, but have no idea what type of rest to put on them. What kind of rest setup do you have on this bow you are shooting in this video? I would sure like to try one. Thanks Jeff for any suggestions you might be able to give me with this. Jim

Hi Jeff: What is the brand of glove you are using, also do you pay attention to the percentage of finger pressure of each of your 3 release fingers and lastly are you using your first joints on your release fivers or slightly out towards your finger tips? I shoot 3 under with an Elite tab & deep hook just ahead of my second joints but as you said, I get some right impacts even though I think my release is clean I’ll bet it’s not, I’ll try using my first joints. After shooting compounds for the last several years because of a wicked traditional archery injury caused because of being over bowed for 30 year's finally catching up to me, I’m back at shooting my traditional bows now at the correct draw weight for me right at 44#, thanks to mostly your videos and working at my shot process at 10 yards and under in my basement all winter (I can thank the South Dakota winters for helping me focus on archery in my cellar! 🤣) I’m definitely getting a perfected shot prices down! Rewatching this one over and over. Question for you Jeff: I've heard you say you shoot two eyes open, How do you develop this skill? I feel the need to squint or close my left eye to create the tunnel vision for focusing on my spot. Is it possible to train oneself to use both eyes? Or is it better to stick with one eye closed/squinting? Thanks man!

Well sometimes it actually helps to slightly squint the left eye just to create that tunnel vision especially on 3D but I’ve just shot so much with both eyes open I’m able to focus and I’m sure my right eye makes sure everything’s right for the shot!

It does a little but most guys adapt pretty well shooting both eyes open especially split finger just difficult for any aiming technique for sure but you should be fine if nothing else learn to shoot left handed, it’s not as hard as I thought it would be, I had to when I had skin surgery on my right shoulder blade so now I can do either one if needed and I’m right eye dominant so you should be okay my friend 👍🏻

Lol I can shoot both good, most of my bows are tillered even for 3under and I have some that are positive and just like to be shot split better but it’s a personal preference of which feels best for everyone but I’ve shot 3under the most through the years.

Yes sir, they’re actually tied nocks that can be moved up or down the serving by twisting, the bottom nock keeps the arrow from sliding down the string during release which causes it to ramp off the shelf, basically running two nocks guarantees the arrow will leave the string straight 👍🏻

Well it actually shoots just like it lol, the only real difference is in the cast aluminum riser versus a machined T6 which just means it’s not as strong and threads strip easily but in a lighter poundage bow for 3D it’s absolutely awesome especially for $200! Like every ILF rig you have to pad the limbs where they make contact during a shot to really silence them but that’s with every one 👍🏻

We have a major carp problem here in KY.....but at least it's a great excuse to shoot tons of arrows while doing good for the environment.

Shooting 3 under for whatever reason doesn't work for me. I've tried it many times but I go all over the place. Maybe I've shot split finger for too long , is there some different tuning to be done as far as nock position? I wouldn't think so , after all the shelf hasn't changed .

It is a clone to where others say the companies that make parts to fit the Satori will fit this Tabow or Tebow model. The model is right eye dominate only for most archers.

The legacy is a little over 8gpi so plenty heavy enough to build hunting arrows, but to get you really close I’d need your exact specs like what bow, exact draw length and how much point weight you want to run especially broadhead preference, shoot me all that info if you can thanks!

The consistent anchor is everything with archery mainly because even the slightest difference in exactly how far the bow is drawn greatly effects how much energy is put into the arrow by the bows limbs which makes a huge difference in trajectory and also develops a repeatable shot, form is the absolute most important factor with any type of archery, once form is developed everything else falls into place 👍🏻
