As a newbie to traditional archery, after 30 years with a compound, I appreciate all of your content. It has been very helpful as I learn.

Mr Phillips, I have to say that I have been watching your videos for a few years. Your tips on becoming an accurate long bow shooter are absolutely incredible. Very understandable and easy to implement. Without your break down and instructions I don’t feel that I would ever have got to the accuracy levels that I am now. Thank you so much and keep up the videos.

He really does! It's a sight to behold. He's like get to you anchor and release but I never see his anchor because the arrow is gone before I can look at it🤣 this guy is my hero for real.

This is why the push archery and others like it can be so dangerously confusing, they mean well, but have way too many variables to try and inevitably mess up the average shooter. Establish your style and if it works never change it, I know, I've tried more than once from watching stuff like the aforementioned. Good advice dude 🤙🤙

Thank you again Jeff. I lost nearly a year from my archery due to a shoulder operation and now have worked back up to 35 #’s with occasionally 40#’s. I figured this would be a prime opportunity to come back into it “properly” and so I have been reviewing your videos. I have full confidence that following your advice can help me get to a whole new level. I thoroughly enjoy watching and listening to, it’s amazing that you are willing to put this kind of effort into helping so many people that you do not even know. Thank you

I have just recently pulled my PSE Impala out of the closet and have been shooting it to do something fun while I heal after total hip replacement. I am having a blast and am thinking of doing a year round practice in order to take it to the deer woods. I aspire to your level of accuracy. God Bless you and yours.

The Lord is so good He took my passion for traditional archery and made it possible for me and my son to leave our careers behind and do exactly what we love everyday so what is impossible with us is nothing for Him! The Bible says” honor the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart “ and that’s exactly what happened with me brother 👍🏻

Also, contact any USA Archery Instructor to learn the most efficient shooting process. It works for all Archery Disciplines including Traditional. Watch the Olympic Recurve Archers. Especially the S. Korean Women's Team. The USA process will save you lots of time, effort & frustration. You will learn so much about Archery and have a Great Time Shooting. Nothing mystical, just great mechanics and technique rolled into their process. Keep it fun!

you bring up a great discussion point for people who have not found or settled in on that perfect bow for them. how does one order a custom bow (not cheap) without trying it out to know if it is going to fit for them? I started with a $150 45# take down recurve and felt it was decent, but after flinging maybe a 1000 arrows thought I needed to try a long bow and bought an entry level $500 custom 55#, 66" made and have enjoyed it, but am thinking I want something more manageable in length for hunting, but the idea of plopping out $1,300 for something custom that I have no idea if it will be a good fit for me is hard to reconcile. So how does one do it?

I love this video , very informative thanks for the tips , I've been into traditional archery for about 3 years now , it takes time to get the shot process down and maintaining it . some days I can hit my spots fairly well , other days not so much overall I've come a long way , but like you said always want to do better, just have to keep practicing , thanks again.

I have several bows that I love but can not shoot well. I am currently using an ilf bow and it is working well but I continue to search for the perfect bow for me. I often wish I lived in a location where I could test a bunch of different bows without having to buy every bow I shoot.

I practiced shooting at tiny objects until it became an automatic hit. I started shooting bugs on dandelions at a foot or so until I knew that it was a done deal. then I would back up a foot or two and work at it until I had that distance mastered. I continued at this while also going back for a very close shot. I did this out to ten yards before going to a little bigger target. I took my misses down to nearly nothing because I had trained my mind and eyes to focus better on a much smaller spot. Now, I train with dry beans because they are cheap, shooting them on the ground in a rock free area. It took my bowfishing from just shooting at the fish to being very tough on the fish or whatever else I was shooting at. Focus is everything and most of us don't focus good enough to be good. We have been given the best computer ever in the brain that God blessed us with and so we have to learn not to argue with it. But we have to train ourselves to let our brain take over without thought to just do it. It is about knowing that you got the shot before you even take it instead of just hoping to hit it. My bugs back then were bees, bumble bees, wasps, yellow jackets, flies, butterflies or whatever was on the flowers or ground. When I got good enough, I would shoot them before they landed as they hoovered above the flower. Now after a lot of health issues, I will train again with the beans. believe me, if you can hit beans out there a little ways, a deer is like shooting a moose. loved your video.

Jerry Cox, Please don’t shoot the butterflies, 50+ years ago there were a lot of butterflies, now it’s a rarity to see one. Even grasshoppers and lightning bugs are not as plentiful.

The arrows don't lie but his follow-through...his second anchor appears to be somewhere in the air 6 inches off his right shoulder...doesn't seem like he's well into his back from that shot. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another. Find your own sequence that works and stick to it.
