Itachi's teammate Shinko actually survived the encounter with Obito. He used a genjutsu on everyone, Itachi and Tenma (being a genjutsu specialist) were the only ones who broke out After Tenma's death, Shinko was traumatized by the event and retired from being a shinobi. She now runs a local tea shop in Konoha The anime adapted SOME parts of the Itachi light novels, but made some changes to them as well as alters much of what happens. For example, the way Tenma dies to Obito. Tenma wanted to just charge in ahead to take on Obito and called Itachi a coward when he said that they needed to figure out what Obito could do. Obito even calls out Tenma for disregarding what Itachi said, and kills him by stabbing his arm into his body Danzo also has been keeping a close eye on Itachi ever since his academy days. He even gave Itachi a riddle where he asked him a riddle regarding ten men, nine of them healthy and one too sick to save. Itachi answers that he would kill the sick man since he will die anyway, thereby ensuring he does not infect the other nine. Danzō is pleased with Itachi's answer and departs. The anime also does NOT cover Itachi's time doing the Chunnin Exams. It turns out that Itachi's sensei keeps shutting down recommending Itachi to the Chunnin Exams because he was jealous of Itachi and hated how some genin like him, was better than his Jonin teacher. Danzo actually intervenes directly and with Fugaku's permission, Itachi takes the Chunin Exams and easily aces through all three events ALONE. Hell, he also set records too even though everyone else were in three man teams while Itachi went solo

That taijutsu sequence between The Foundation and Itachi and Shisui was incredible. I love the strategy employed in it by both parties, and topped with great animation it's definitely one of my favourite fights. Seeing how the sharingan really works in POV is always dope😙 Shisui and Itachi being bros (that ponytail flick though), explaining the tactics behind tracking and decoys, strategy in the fights, the conflicting ideologies, and above-average animation to boot. Makes us all want to see way more of Shisui. He's such a great character- he has the perfect balance between raw power and skill, intelligence, and a good heart.

I also, for some reason, just assumed they would die at some point. It’s not because we never hear of them. Since we don’t really need to. Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan at age 7 after the death of his best friend during the Third Great Ninja War. Shisui became a Jonin at age 11(because he has a 3-year gap between Itachi and Itachi is 8 here) whereas Kakashi became at age 10 so Kakashi is still the youngest Jonin. Izumi Uchiha unlocked the Sharingan at age 5 and is the youngest Sharingan user so Shisui probably awakened his Sharingan when he was 6 or 7.

So, shisui’s “teleportation” is just the body flicker technique. Most shinobi can do this jutsu. It’s part of the substitution jutsu. All it is is enhanced movement speed using chakra. When naruto/raikage have their chakra cloaks, any movement they do is the body flicker jutsu, only they don’t have to try to do it since theirs cloaks do it automatically. Shisui takes this jutsu to an extremely high level. He is moving so fast that afterimages of himself appear. Just Ike how when you wave a prenup back and forth, it can appear to be in multiple places

If you are a big itachi fan. You need to read his two light novels. These episodes are based off the light novels but for some reason they changed alot of key things. The novels go so in depth into itachi's mind and his life 1000% better than these episodes and they tell you things that these episodes dont

Teleportation that Shisui uses isnt a ms ability. It is just a normal jutsu called body flicker that he learned to use very well. Body flicker is a jutsu that makes shinobi move at super fast speeds so thats why there were afterimages. It is called teleportation because it sounds cool and looks like it.

Remember that Tenma glanced at Itachi fully knowing well that Itachi was genuinely scared of obito. He made a life and death choice right there and decided to take on obito knowing damn well that he was going to die. This was to give Itachi a chance to run away and live. Completely admirable of Tenma to do. Both Tenma and Shinko were around 12-13 here. So a bit older than Itachi but still kids either way, and as for Itachi i believe he was 10-11. Obito must have been 17-18 at the time.

The anime is still different from the light novel (in which Kishimoto supervised personally). In the anime Tenma's look at Itachi was what you said. But in the novel it was MUCH different. Tenma wanted to charge ahead and engage Obito in battle while Itachi said that they needed to assess the situation and what Obito could do. Tenma instead called Itachi a coward and blindly charged in, Obito even calls him out for disregarding Itachi's caution and "stabs his arm into Tenma, killing him"

"teleportation" is not what it is, it is a translation error it was actually called the body flicker technique and to use it you just have to move really really fast to the point you leave an after image. also the Flying Raijin Jutsu is the only jutsu that can make you teleport as in actually teleport( point a to point b in no time while body flicker relies on physical speed and there is time needed). sorry for the interruption I just wanted to make you know why that anbu was like "but he's not supposed to have mass."

shisui always knew itachi better than he did himself. this is my favorite bond from naruto. i wish we couldve seen more on it. (read the itachi light novels if you can.. theyre way better at telling his story) and shisui was a genius himself, he was i think around 4 years older than itachi. i love that he gave him his nindo,, " protecting the village from the shadows" is what both shisui and itachi had done. ibelieve from in the light novels it was said that itachi wanted to be a hokage at some point but gave up on that childhood dream and embraced shisuis philosophy, that they would be hokages in the shadows that would never be named as heroes or never have thier faces carved in stones.. they would protect the village without anyone realizing. and shisui was a mentor, a big brother and a best friend to him when itachi had no one to lean on. he had to be perfect at anything and everything, there wasnt any room for failure, because failure to please his father meant his father turning to sasuke and carving him into a perfect soulless soldier aand itachi didnt want that. so he was in immense amount of pressure and shisui was the rock underneath his feet, the only one who could read his true feelings he didnt understand himself, the one he was allowed to be a little bit childlike around.. which makes their fates all the more heartbreaking..

Also Shisui's afterimage clones are not a mangekyou ability, he's using the body flicker technique, but Shisui is actually almost as fast as Minato so he is moving so quickly between all of those spots that it just looks like there are many of him, but it's not actually a clone technique, there is only one though.

The light novel reveals that Danzo took Shisui by surprise, and then one of his Root members lethally poisoned him. Even if Shisui had gotten away from Danzo with both eyes intact, the poison would have killed him. By the time Shisui met Itachi for the final time, more than half of his body had already shut down from said poison
