Glenn Beck

Күн бұрын

When actor Dennis Quaid was approached to play Ronald Reagan in the new movie "Reagan," he almost didn’t take the role. "Fear went up my spine," he tells Glenn on a special episode of "The Glenn Beck Podcast." "He’s probably my biggest hero, in a way." As the two sit surrounded by beautiful mountains at Glenn’s ranch in Idaho, Quaid explains how a visit to Reagan’s own ranch property was what finally convinced him to accept the part. "I GOT Reagan there. You can feel him." Quaid reveals what made Reagan such a formidable - yet loved - president and whether or not America will ever see a similar leader again. They dive into Quaid’s past struggles with addiction, the dangers of fame, and how he eventually developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that pulled him through it all. Plus, Quaid provides hope for our nation’s future, from the ability of RFK Jr. to bridge Democrat and Republican Party lines and signs the world is "turning right side up again" to his belief that mending America starts with one small step at a time: "I think it starts at home, in our relationships with our friend [and] local community." They discuss how COVID replicated a kind of "spiritual revolution," the spread of communism, and how Quaid learned piano from Jerry Lee Lewis himself - which Quaid then demonstrates in an impromptu performance. So is Quaid concerned for the nation’s future? Or is he steadfast - like Reagan - in his belief in the American people? He tells Glenn that he’s an optimist and that "people are yearning for a return to common sense and decency."
Special thank-you to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for helping to provide footage of the 40th president.
Note: The new movie "Reagan" is a sponsor of "The Glenn Beck Program."

My daughter & I saw REAGAN today. Fantastic movie. My husband & I will go see it when he’s back in town. I was in college when Reagan was shot. I became a conservative because of President Reagan. High quality production. Excellent acting. I don’t get emotional at films, but I cried at the end of this movie. I wasn’t the only one. I look at the US now, the UK now under Starmer vs under Thatcher then. The theater was full and people clapped at the end. Stay through the credits. Our kids don’t feel the hopefulness we did in the 1980s. And filmed in Oklahoma. Well done.

You know one scene that really got me emotional all of a sudden, was when Reagan does “take two” and the actors so perfectly look at one another with genuine desire to trust and be reasonable, as if it was so pleasantly surprising, and then the two most powerful leaders shake hands and decide to go for a walk and talk. I guess it was witnessing what one could only hope for coming true, and appreciating how Reagan’s honorable, confident, amicable leadership style seemed a blessing from god himself.

I too just saw the movie with my 31 year old daughter. I was crying too at the end. It was a mixture of pride and sadness for our country. Reagan was the first president I got to vote for. Only now that I’m in my sixties do I fully understand what a remarkable man he was. God bless America and pray for our leaders because demons are everywhere trying to tear us apart.

I am not American, I am a Catholic with a Protestant background that had a born again experience in the 1960s. It seems to me that the present day Democrats have an arrogance that makes them think that they are in a class above anyone else. Because of that they think that they have the right do do whatever they like to others trampling on them if they're in their way. Perhaps that's the root of Satan's pride, he basically thinks he's superior to everyone including God.

The Left is pro-abort for the entire 9 months of gestation, the Left is for castrating little boys who say they want to be girls. Glenn, this was a wonderful and authentic conversation. Great job. I absolutely loved “meeting” the new Dennis Quaid and hearing his journey to finding Jesus. He will find, like many of us, that we meet new and better friends than the ones that rejected our newer -wiser self. That could be related to our walk with Christ, changing political ideology, and of course, walking away from our particular version of enslaving sin. I look forward to seeing the Reagan movie. He was one of my very favorite presidents too. “Tear down that wall, Mr. Gorbachevz.” I loved what Dennis said, “First it was good. Then it was good with problems. Then it was just problems.” The true nature of every sin that the father of lies tells us. He always deceives us with “the good” part first, failing to tell us the final chapter of that book. ~KimOpperman

Just as Christianity must be believed and revived for each generation, the spirit of America must be renewed, fought for, and won by each generation. Neither one can be inherited by the next generation and be as strong or stronger. Buy in, true belief, faith can be encouraged, but not inherited.

We resonate sooo much with this movie because it is 100% truthful! All the actual footage used from the archives& clips, were what we heard & saw and experienced back in the day. I saw the film twice yesterday (for opening numbers boosted) and last night I had 80's-mares!!!! I dreamt I was on a Studio 54 set with the Bee Gee's 🎶💃🏼📽🎬🎞🎙

I want so very much to see & support this at the theater and those of you that can afford to go to the theater have my admiration! I can’t afford microwave popcorn much less going to the movie and eating nothing, just getting in the door! Hopefully it will be released to some streaming platform or another, eventually. I’m very much enjoying this interview ! Thank you as always Glenn! May God be with you all, protect you all, keep us all under His hedge of protection, in the name of Jesus, God’s will be done in all things & in all things let us know and do His will, in Jesus name amen.☑️💯✝️🙏🏼🕊️💪❤️🇺🇸🤍🇺🇸💙🇺🇸

I absolutely loved the movie, Dennis and Penelope did a great job depicting my favorite President.! I have read so many articles, his book he wrote, The long goodbye Patti wrote, I admired Reagan so much, Thanks Dennis for taking on the role, also Glenn thanks for having Dennis on to discuss the movie and this wonderful man. Reagan had a deep faith and I will see himself in person in Heaven someday!
