Last week at Canada Cup, I was just steps away from her by dug out as my daughter was the bat girl for Chinese Taipei, but I didn’t realize she was a big deal. That game with Chinese Taipei, she had 1 grand slam and two 3-run home runs, I realized wow this young lady was somebody. She is the first and only player I’ve ever seen who can hit the ball over the fence of the ball park! Totally insane and it subverted my perception of the limits of softball.

I would truly encourage her to use and build on that skill along with the others needed to cross over into MMA, with the following, backing she build from the diamond she can really make some serious money if she can cut it and sign with the UFC. Something softball won’t be able to give any of its athletes.

It’s fast pitch softball because that is what the high school feeder system provides in numbers for colleges to build their teams off of. Same reason they don’t play 8 man football in college, yeah there are some 8 man football teams but not enough to make it a sanctioned ncaa sport. The rules to qualify a sport to be sanctioned by NCAA is quite vigorous but there are always emerging sports they are looking to test for participation.
