I'm here after listening to 2 tracks by Blackpink (Happiest GIrl, Tally) mixed by Josh Gudwin and gotta say I'm impressed with this reverb and delay game in those songs. It gives intimate feelings but still with a lot of ambience at the back but not eating the vocals clarity AT ALL. Everything is so focused in the middle right on your face. Things got tricky with 4 members with totally different vocal ranges and timbres. Kinda understand the concept about how it's done after this short video. Thanks man, really appreciate it.

great video as always! Ive been trying to figure out his dimension D send with uad studio d chorus, rcomp and an eq, but he doesnt go into it anywhere (including mixedwiththemasters). I mean its a simple plugin and a simple bus, im just wondering what that rcomp does there you wouldnt by chance have found some info on that? 😅

I think its a way to add dimension to the mix, i read that rob kinelski do the same, using microshift he call it spread buss someshint like that cant remember

@@jesperborgstrm3385 its gonna be compressed in the mix bus anyway, the less job you handle to your mix bus the louder and fuller its gonna be. Suppose that you comp 2 db at the mix bus, now at the same settings and db the plugin develop a better sound, now you can push hard limiters.

it probably is more like a pararell compression thing. By getting the chrous more compressed the vocal sounds more consistant without the main vox being too compressed. or he just uses it sooo little with a fast attack just to catch peeks u dont need at the sides
