Juju is a phenom. She plays in Cali, so of course, you will see plenty of celebrities coming to check her out. You're correct about the exposure the B10 will give her. Dominate the B10🤔 we will have to see. It depends on the help she gets next year. B10 coaches will not play her man on man. They will give her the CC treatment. Lots of double teams, box, and 1 or a dedicated defender in her face constantly.

Thats where the incoming recruits help her

@giizodamulla7492 How productive will those freshmen be is the question. Juju and Hannah Hidalgo level? I'm personally looking forward to seeing more of Juju. The B10 conference is very physical and a grind. I don't think it will be a walk in the park as some PAC12 fans think. As good as Caitlin Clark is, she was picking herself up off the court about 5 times a game before she got strong enough with 2 years of strength training to take the hits. SEC is the only conference that's even more physical. My opinion may change if PAC12 has a good tourny. As a fan from B10, I'm pulling for a good showing from teams that play now and will play for B10.

@@Roadkill515 My point is Iowa never added quality recruits or transfers to help ease the burden on Clark.Look at this year for instance,most people haven't realised her scoring average jumped from around 27 to 32 because Iowa couldn't replace Monica Czinano.My point is that not only is USC going to bring elite recruits to their team next tear,They most likely will get their fair share of top transfers as well.All of this puts her and the team in a much better position moving forward than Iowa did
@Roadkill5155 ай бұрын
@giizodamulla7492 I took a look at USC incoming freshman. Strong class. Kennedy Smith looks strong enough to have an impact next year. Howell and Heckel will need to get stronger. Heckel can drop some dimes, though, so she could be an impact player. A lot of people keep saying Iowa needs a big transfer to replace Monica. They just didn't have the roster room. Iowa could have cut Ava Jones to make room for a transfer. But that's not their style. Players don't transfer out much, and Iowa looks for players to fit their system. Not the highest-rated player in the portal. Someone like Molly Davis. The teams are tight-knit every year. USC does have a good incoming freshman class! How much room will there be for transfers is my question?

I totally agree on the Pac 12 Networks, they are horrible! I have it on my home cable, and when I want to watch a live game... it messes up half the time and then when you want to watch the replay on their app, they don't show the whole game because they cut a lot of the game out with their editing. I know UCLA has the higher ranking, and I do enjoy watching some of their games, but I want to watch USC while they're playing live, not watch an edited replay.

@@maxpower247 Definitely. Now USC has a good supporting cast, but their style of play burns them. Juju (If she doesn't shoot) will pass the ball, take herself out of the play then her teammates will have to play 5 on 4. If she would just cut to the basket or run the baseline, it would open things up.

Instead she'll hold it and probe for something better. I love her talent, but her points are hard. Even with the 51 point performance, she's shooting 38% & 27% on 3's in Conference play

Lastly, Kennedy Smith was awesome, but her teammate was the star. Her name is Grace Knox. She was breathtaking to watch. A female Blake Griffin. Kennedy scored 28 to only her 12, but this girl LOOKS like a 5 year pro, whereas Kennedy looked like a talented mere mortal. I came away impressed with Kennedy's shooting, but I raved about Grace Knox. Similar to Blake Griffin, she's ranked as a fringe Top 20 prospect, but I would not be shocked if she’s CPOY as a Junior and a #1 Pick. Also, she is high on USC. If she goes there in 2025, you can just hand USC the title in preseason.

I would caution any young person who's making a name for themselves in sports to cozy up too much to the appeal of celebrity. People who are already celebrities are trading on Ju Ju's trending appeal to also keep themselves into the spotlight. A couple of stars from the tournament last year, one continues to focus on the game, the other on being a model and influencer...in the latter case, not a good look, as they haven't taken care of the business that made them a star in the first place.

Juju Watkins is a more complete player than the other three players you compared to her. She is way better defensively than the other three players and is eagerly willing and able to defend too. I saw that game and was blown away by her willingness do do whatever her team needed to get the W.
@prettyugly5 ай бұрын
Although she did great in this game, she needs to improve her efficiency a lot. JuJu takes a lot of shots, and this game was no different, as she took her regular amount of shots. The difference is she was very efficient. If she can improve or at least maintain her efficiency from this game going forward, she would average 45 -55 points per game. Such a great talent. I knew she would be great immediately from game 1 (could be biased), but not this great so soon. I think I would rather my team go against CC than JuJu right now.
@RichardII_Lionheart5 ай бұрын
You really think JuJu would average 45-55 points per game with better efficiency? I will take a wager that she does not average 30 this year.
@prettyugly5 ай бұрын
@@RichardII_Lionheart I said if she can improve or maintain her efficiency from the Stanford game, based on the amount of shots she regularly takes (around the same amount she took against Stanford and her last game, which is in the high 20s) she could average that amount depending on how many 2's and 3's she scores. She averages what she averages now, shooting in the high 20s every game, while being inefficient.

I missed the game because I went to see Kennedy Smith's last regular season game, but I watched the replay: Here are a few takeaways... 1) She got RED HOT early. 2) Padilla had several chances to drive and wreak havoc, but didn't 3) When Juju passes, she doesn't move or cut and her teammates are left on an island. Fine against UCR, but a nightmare against a team like Stanford. 4) She went cold for a huge stretch in the second half, likely due to fatigue. 5) She posted up once with a nice result. Pass to a wide open shooter. They need to run about 10 of those a game. 6) She heated up in the 4th but so did Stanford. 7) McKenzie Forbes hit the shot of the season to help preserve this historic win. Overall this will go down as one of the greatest individual performances in Women's Basketball History. Glad we were all witnesses.
